The Jafa Mafia the Sound of Auckland established in 2003 by selectors Tobi and Captain Midnite. From their 95bFM radio show "Thunder & Joy" (Fridays 11pm-1am) the pair found a shared passion for 'proper' bashment reggae and mad dancehall. The radio show then spawned a sister on Auckland's Base FM (www.basefm.co.nz), "Strictly 45", (Sundays 2-4pm +12 GMT) that continues to operate. Tobi is NZ born and London raised, originates from the London free party/rave and nightclub scene having played most contemporary genres of dance music now focusing on dancehall, dubstep/grime and jungle. Selector Midnite hails from Hungary and developed his love of Jamaican music whilst living in Rome checking Onelove Hi Pawa the legendary soundsystem of Rome weekly and now hunts rare reggae gems like Indiana Jones in a tracksuit and trainers. The Mafia includes Hokianga lads - sing-jay MC Flowzion and VJ/soundboy Razhard on the projector and desk with regular assistance from Harare's gifted son - MC Tuff Enchant. Having warmed up dances with Kyabamba Sound (Swiss) and Worries Outernational Sound (Ireland), Nasty Tek (Sydney) and Goldfinger (Japan), the Jafas clashed and beat Firehouse Sound Sydney on the 17th January 2007 in their own backyard at the first NZ v AUSTRALIA showdown. The tight reclash in February was a respectable draw. Thanks to all who attended Junior Reid at Galatos in 2007. It was a roadblock and the man himself is a legend still. Captain Midnite has now relocated back to his home country Hungary and is maintaining the Jafa vibes there. In May 2008 he selected for UK dancehall artist Top Cat in Pecs Hungary on the Batta Dem Reggae Festival. Selector Paradox has joined the sound back at home in Auckland and is working towards big things with Tobi, Flowzion and Raazhard. Jafa Mafia Soundsystem 2003 ban alakult Auckland, Új-Zéland fovárosában. Célja a reggae dancehall és az eredeti soundsystem kultúra megismertetése az újzélandi fiatalokkal. Az alapító Tobi (UK) és Captain Midnitehoz (HU) csatlakozott a mauri szarmazású tehetséges MC Flowsion és engineerként DJ/VJ Raazhard. Két éven belül vezeto soundsysteme lett Újzélandnak, kitunve mesteri jamaicai dubplateikkel, és hangulatfokozó perfomanszukkal. Továbblépve JafaMafia kihívta a vezeto ausztrál Firehouse Soundsystemet soundclashre amelyet megnyert igy a Jafa Mafia a jelenlegi Trans Tasman Champion. Ezt követoen mint fiatal tehetség, a 80as évek korai digital riddimjeinek mestere csatlakozott a csapathoz Selecta Paradox szinesítve a soundsystem palettáját. Captain Midnite bizonytalan idore 2008 nyarán Magyarországra költözött, ahonnan szeretné hirdetni europának az újzélandi soundculturet. Foka és Midnite zenei partnersége sok színes fellépést ígér még a magyar és európai közönségnek mivel áprilistól ok képviselik a sound európai részlegét.
