After much anticipation “Against All Oddz” is the debut mix tape from the UK’s hottest new artist stepping out of North London. Due for release 2009, the mix tape features collaborations with some of UK’s finest including JME and new R&B sensation Darren B.



Layz is not just an mc but an artist and performer. Debut track ‘Funky Times’ was the first to be heard from his much-anticipated mix tape Against All Oddz. The single is a perfect introduction to the style and swagger this 20 year old artist carries, showcasing his smooth, charismatic vocals over a new mellow funky vibe, proving himself to be more than just your average mc.



Refusing to be placed into one box Layz vocals a house remix of UK artist, Sam Sparro’s ‘Black And Gold,’ where he lightly dips into a topic of black history and cleverly brings it to a modern fore front, with which showcasing the versatility of this artist.



‘Give It To You’ featuring new R&B artist Darren B is definitely one for the ladies as Darren’s seductive chorus complements Layz’s smooth, laid back style.



Layz describes his mixtape as an influence of all different genres despite being a grime MC, which shows the way in which this MC is developing as an artist. “I try to infuse different genres because I am an artist and an artist should want and be able to express themselves in many different ways rather than sticking to one genre and limiting themselves,” Layz explains.



This artist is yet to really explode onto the UK music scene, but has already received airplay on radio stations such as Choice Fm and Radio1Xtra, as well as underground pirate radio stations. Layz has also had live studio appearances on Logan Sama (Kiss fm) and Tim Westwood (1xtra) radio shows.



These are exciting times for the artist and also the industry as Layz brings a fresh sound to the table and begins his musical journey. Definitely one to watch. Against All Oddz is due for release 2009 and will be available both physically and digitally.
