Izzy Battle is the future of hip hop. Coming up under the reigns of his mentor Nick Cannon, has garnered success within the industry.
Izzy Battle, hailing from the Nation’s Capitol, Washington, D.C., and shortly after moving to Maryland, started rapping at the tender age of nine. While only a senior in high school he dominated Washington, D.C.’S WPGC 95.5 “FRIDAY NIGHT MIC FIGHT,” competition during prime hours voted by the listeners of Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. As the champion for 8 Weeks he was stamped as the youngest and the one of the top rappers in his region. He headlined local colleges like Bowie State University’s spring concert with Kanye West and Howard University’s Yard Fest,
Izzy’s buzz had grown so large that through a mutual friend he was introduced to his now mentor and close friend, Nick Cannon, who helped brand Izzy’s name in the music industry.
Izzy co-wrote, co-published, and featured on 4 songs on Nick Cannon’s sophpmore album “Stages.” He is featured on Nick’s smash hit “DIME PIECE” It was the number 1 MOST ADDED URBAN RHYTHMIC AND CROSSOVER FORMATS. This hit single made number 26 ON BILLBOARD’S RHYTHIMC TOP 40. With Hip Hop legends like KRS-One and Big Daddy Kane giving Izzy their stamp of approval. Nick knew he had a good thing so he offered Izzy a deal through his label, “Can I Ball” Records.
Izzy’s popularity is growing so large that he has generated a strong online buzz as MYSPACE’S FEATURED ARTIST OF THE WEEK. YOUTUBE views (900,000) collectively, and seen by millions of viewers worldwide as BET.COM’S BREAKOUT ARTIST OF THE MONTH, YAHOO MUSIC’S TOP RECOMMENDED VIDEOS, and as a special guest on TMOBILE PRESENTS MYSPACE T.I. & FRIENDS CONCERT.
This opened doors for Izzy to secure paid solo performances across the Untied States and sharing stages with superstars including: Chris Brown, Rihanna, Keyshia Cole, Kanye West, NE-YO, and Mary J. Blidge.
As a performer on MTV’S WILD N OUT television show and assistant writer for the wild style segment. He has been the only artist not signed to a major label to do so.
Music doesn’t stop with Izzy he plans to venture into film and television in front of the screen and behind the camera. He has been building his acting credits to include; a BOOST MOBILE commercial alongside Nick Cannon and K.D. Aubert, and MTV’S SHORT CIRCUITZ. He eventually wants to run his own entrepreneurial conglomerate.
Izzy currently has a single getting ready for national release called, “Talkin’ Bout” new video directed by Nick Cannon has special guest appearances by Jazze Pha, Yung Berg, and the WILD N OUT GIRLS. He is currently in the studio finishing putting the final touches on his album.
Mr. Battle has the work ethic and talent to become the next big superstar. He has the drive to work day and night to accomplish his dreams. He posses a personality that can light up a room and draw people to him. Even without a record deal he has made thousands of dollars a month selling independent releases of himself.
Izzy is a force to be reckoned with and will definitely leave his mark on the entertainment industry.
