"It was all a dream!" That's how The Notorious B.I.G.; I-Dub's Role model starts off his legendary hit "Juicy". I-Dub can certainly relate as his career up to this point has been a dream, that he has no plains on waking up from anytime soon. I-Dub was born Barnett Manuel Burstein, October 16, 1986, in the Jersey shore town of Neptune NJ. Right from birth the Italian/Hispanic MC was hit with an obstacle. Upon being born his mother was told that her son's lungs were not fully developed, and her son was not getting enough oxygen to fluctuate through his body. Dr.'s only gave I-Dub a 50 percent chance of surviving. However god had bigger plains for him, and after two weeks of uncertainty, and prayer, I-Dub was released from ICU and returned home to his parents. Though born to very loving parents his childhood was very hard and not easy. His mother battled drug, alcohol issues, and physical abuse from his father. His father made an illegal living selling drugs, and was always in and out of jail. Although all of this is very much for a young child to witness at such a young age, I-Dub would rise and prevail. As mentioned before, his role model in hip hop was Biggie Smalls who Dub discovered one night on in his living room, when "YO! MTV Raps" played Junior M.A.F.I.A.'s "Get Money" video. It was at that moment when I-Dub's life would change forever.

I-Dub would write rhymes with his friends just as a pastime however, it was clear to everyone that rap would not be a pastime for I-Dub much longer. Every time I-Dub would spit a verse he would leave his peers, and older people alike in aw of the obvious gift he had. However I-Dub himself never looked at hip hop as a realistic "career" . But as time went by, he would hear number 1 hit songs on the radio, and Dub knew with in his heart he could produce something just as good if not better. I-Dub was finally ready to take on the world of hip hop with a full head of steam.

Through out high school I-Dub quickly gained the reputation of a fierce battle rapper with incredible punchlines, wordplay and lyrical wit. At the young age of 15 I-Dub attended a battle sponsored by legendary NY hip hop radio station Hot97. I-Dub put on a dazzling display as the young teenager lyrically man handled various mc's twice his age from the Tr-State area, winning the Hot97 sponsored battle. Through out the next few years I-Dub released 3 mixtapes; "The Future", It's Ya' Boy Dub", and Get Ya' Barz Up". But with his most resent release "Tri-State Muisc" I-Dub shows that he is truly in a class of his own.

Hard work truly pays off, and after years of grinding, blood, sweat and tears, I-Dub is starting to break through, and get recognition with his new mixtape. I-Dub was privileged enough to work with other mixtape artists that he admires on this project such as Papoose, Grafh, Murda Mook, Lord Tariq, and Tom Gist. His presence on the Internet is picking up as well, as he is being featured on major hip hop websites like Worldsatrhiphop.com, and wegoinin.net just to name a few. He and his long time right hand man Awthentik have also gained notoriety with their Tru Era imprint. Tru Era has opened their own studio, and started Tru Era Films; one of the hottest hip hop video production companies, who has already worked with Jadakiss, Cocaine City, Ma$e, French Montana, Max B, Nucci Reyo, and Sky High just to name a few. Tru Era also is an official partner, and sponsor of The Panic Room which is GRINDTIME's New Jersey rap battle division.

The future could not look brighter for I-Dub. If you look at his accomplishments up to the point at such a young age is remarkable. At only 23 years old I-Dub has already worked with established artists, won numerous MC battles, and performed live at various venues. I-Dub possess the rare talent to spit punchlines with the best of them, knock out club bangers, street anthems, and rnb-oriented tracks for his female audience. On top of all this, he does it with lyrical ability that hasn't been seen in hip hop since likes of Big Pun, Scarface, Nas, and The Notorious B.I.G. I-dub will continue upon his his journey until he reaches his goal; To become the biggest rapper in the world. Until he gets there, just remember three words: "IT'S YA BOY DUB!"
