Alexis Star is a talented and energetic Music Artist. Brooklyn born with an exotic mix of Indian, Italian and Irish. She has a one of a kind, outstanding Vocal Quality. Alexis has a fresh and one of a kind sound. Always looking towards the future, her sound seems one step ahead. She is creative, fun, original, animated and hardworking. Alexis loves to collaborate with innovative producers and is very involved in the writing process of her music. She hopes everyone enjoys listening as much as she enjoys creating.
Alexis has written and recorded numerous songs. She has been played on the radio internationally and nationally, including Betuwe Radio in the Netherlands, WWACN, Nox 97 FM in Orlando, WJMC in Long Island on their show unlabeled, Sprint Radio, US Cellular Radio, XM Radio, WMUW, etc. She has been featured and played on Z100 New. She has a production deal with No Limits Ent., working with BMI songwriter, composer, producer Pavel Bez. She has won praise from VH1, being named "Suggested Artist" of the year. She has been featured on the front page of the New York Times Arts section. Alexis has worked with Platinum selling Producer and Mixer Steve Sola . She has performed at places such as The Cutting Room, The Iguana Club, The Copacabana, The Lighthouse, The National Undeground, The Supper Club, and much more.
Alexis has been singing since the age of three, when her first talent competition took place. She performed to Michael Jackson's "Beat It", and won. At five years old Alexis started performing in musicals. Her brothers and sister joined a musical theatre program, but she was too young to join. She followed her siblings to rehearsals and memorized all of the songs and script. The director of the show noticed her enthusiasm and natural talent, and he wrote a part for her. She then got a scholarship to the theatre company, City Lights. She was eager and ready to start her career.
Alexis continued her career in the musical theatre field for many years, developing her powerful voice. She worked in most of the Off-Broadway Theatres in New York City, playing lead roles. Her theatre company consistently choose her to perform duets with many famous Cabaret and Broadway singers. Ben Vereen was one of her favorites to work with, as well as performing with the cast of Hairspray and Wicked.
At the age of fourteen her mother became very sick. Alexis had to be there all the time to take care of her. Alexis was juggling her career, a job, school, and taking care of her mother. Singing and writing was her escape from all of the chaos happening around her. A couple of year later, her mother passed away, leaving Alexis orphaned. She still continued to peruse her music career while and going to school and supporting herself.
Around the same time Alexis startred training with renowned vocal coach, William Zeffiro who is famous for training broadways casts and pop vocalists. She also got the lead in an original show written by Broadway writer and Tony nominated, Will Holt.
Alexis continued working on her music and developing a unique sound, recording her own material. She started performing at various venues around New York City. A BMI Songwriter / Composer / Producer Pavel Bez, heard her sing at the legendary Cutting Room and offered her a production deal with No Limits Entertainment. She is now taking the music scene by storm, receiving a lot of buzz, and is on her way to Stardom!
