IN TRANCE 95 were formed in Athens by Alex Machairas and Nik Veliotis in May 1988.
After a period of experimentation with analogue synths, drum machines and radios in their own basement studio that they named Airdawn, they released their first single "Desire To Desire / Brazilia" in December 1988.
On January 3rd of 1989 they did their first gig in AN Club, while at same period, they filmed their video for "Desire To Desire" that happens to be the only one from a Greek electronic band ever from that era.
On June the duo released their second offer, the 7inch "21st CET / Temptation Two" that was split with Dada Data on the other side. This release brought them together with Coti K.,member of DD then, who would play a significant role to shape their sound,as the band's engineer in every release from their next work and since. This was their first album "Code Of Obsession" released on 1990.
In September 1991 they released the 4-track 12inch "Warm Nights Driving On Wet Streets" as the first sample of their new concept lp "Radio Telescope Mysteries" that would see the light of day in parts of future releases as it was never released as a whole.
In 1992 two songs from the album "Energy-ia" and "The Lesser Water Snake" come out in compilations, while Nik the same period starts a solo career as well as involved in other projects. George Geranios replaces him on stage and IT95 continue with a number of live shows in an indefinite time and return to the studio three years later to record a new song "Overcast" co-written by the band and Coti.
Nik was present in the studio and he also had recorded a cello version of "Lacerta",track from their first album. Those two recordings together with 6 tracks of 1992's album became the material for two e.p.'s "Ocean" and "Overcast" in 1995.
In 1996 the band performs in Rock of Gods festival for the last time before they disappear.
In December 2006, Alex and George with the addition of Magdalena Sverlander on Synths do their first gig after 10 years opening for Plaid.
Finally In Trance 95 reform with the original line up invited by ex-Dep Mode Alan Wilder to open for his gig in Athens with RECOIL on April 10th,2010.
That show brought Alex and Nik together again and the duo decided to record new material, while the same time was an offer to release a collection of their early tapes compiled by MINIMAL WAVE's Veronica Vasicka.
This led to the recording of a brand new album "Abovearth" that the band is still working on and the re-mastering of their very early tapes that will consist the material for "Cities Of Steel And Neon".
Both albums scheduled to be released in 2011.
