From the deep south of the musically charged Memphis, TN where the
air is thick, a rumbling force grows. The harmonic battery of Inner 61 approaches mainstream music with a vengeance. A combination of powerful, soulful vocals, mountain cracking bass lines, aggressive double barrel dual guitars, and brow beating drums complete the five-piece band's aural onslaught.
Put together in the early Millennium by founding members Frankie Glenn
(Vocal, Guitars) and Shaun Lloyd (Lead Vocal), Inner 61 began to blaze their trail through Memphis and the region with thundering authority. In 2004 they
released their first record, "Nothing Personal", as well as toured in support of the album for the next two years. Traveling everywhere from Key West up to the Carolinas, across Indiana and into the plain states, down to Texas and everywhere in between… even to Los Angeles to play in front of a packed house at The Key Club, Inner 61 is nothing short of seasoned. Shortly thereafter, the band added the bark of a second guitar. After a few misses they snatched Memphis metal veteran Thomas Clements to thicken up their soup of Rock and Soul Gumbo. After swimming in a sea of bass guitar hell, the guys reached into Memphis's abyss of guitar players to produce a bass player in Holdfast's Monty Weston. Finally to complete the rhythm section, on drums, Beale Street session drummer Chris Wenzler was added to the lineup.
Inner 61 are the ones that always get away, the ones that sneak up behind you and thump your ear only to be unseen when you turn around. They are David and Goliath. They are the Vampire's sparkling white fangs as they sink into your skin and infect you with the passionate poison that is Rock-and-Roll!
