The meaning behind the name Infantry is troops who fight on foot. No other name describes these 4 young soldiers who are the next best thing on the scene. Coming straight out of the 804, the hot group is holding it down for the Richtown(Richmond,Va). The group consists of I.V. Da Menace, the young but deadly MC who promises to be a future threat to other rappers. The first lady of Infantry Lil Nae, holds it down for the ladies being the only girl and still coming harder than most dudes. But don't let her fool u she still has that sex appeal to keep the boys looking. And last but not least the larger than life duo of Da Heavyweaightz(Big Phil & Willie-Lee aka Da Monsta) who are the best producers in the Rich! While doing their thing on the mic they also handle the production and beatmaking that is making Infantry stand out from the rest. Along with the beats these 4 artists together have the right combination of talent and lyrics to be the biggest group Richmond, Virginia has ever seen. Yeah there are other groups besides Infantry or likewise the Dedikated Boys who are making noise for the cap city but no other young groups are known more locally and gaining a larger following like these two in the city especially in Southside. Infantry has two full length albums under their belt entitled "The Beginning Of The End"(2005) which made a huge buzz for them locally. Then their was the last effort "Only Tha Strong Survive"(2006) which was certified a hood classic in their hometown. Infantry has recently took a brief hiatus to focus on solo projects. Big Phil and Big Will aka Da Heavyweights are working on their album Don't Take Us Lighty which includes the first single ''Wat It Iz''. And I.V. Da Menace is working on a solo album entitled Str8 Up Menace coming real soon. But Infantry is far from over. INF has just begun it's reign. so stay tuned!!!!
