When u think about the watered-down state of hip hop, most would say
that it is a dying artform. With a market over saturated with
commercialized themes, many question where the industry will be in a couple years.well, here is the answer.
To her family and friends she is Stevie Matlock, but for all purposes
from now on she is Infamiss, also dubbed the "Princess of Rap" by those
who have come across this talented young lady. This 18-year-old Ohio
native has caught the eye of some of the industry's most seasoned
veterans. In a game where female emcees have become non-existent, she is more than ready to breathe life back into that aspect of the game.
A natural born entertainer, she's been performing since elementary
school, with a wide range of stage experience to support that. So it
shouldn't surprise you that throughout junior high and highschool she
could be found on stage with S.E.T.T (Self Expression Teen Theater),
various plays throughout her city, and Central Catholic's Gospel Choir
and Glee Club, where she was a member of various assembles between the two, including a musical. So it is evident that Infamiss thrives
whenever the spotlight is placed on her.
When asked why she chose entertainment, she simply stated, "It chose me. It's been automatic ever since I can rememeber."
She began writing at a very early age, but it wasn't until the
controversary surrounding the late, great Tupac Shakur's career, that
she found hip hop, and took in the music and lifestyle as her own.
Influenced by the likes of Tupac, Jay Z, Da Brat, and Eve, she has used
them to create a style that she can call her own. It's safe to say you
can't predict what this little lady's full length will consist of.
Infamiss promises that her debut release, a mixtape entitled, "Just Gettin' Started Vol. 1", will not leave her followers disappointed.
With it's lead single, "Shine Like A Star", and it's follow up, "Leave
You Alone", she is offering fans just the kind of consistency the
industry is lacking.
