DISABUSED

Rasende Wut, herzergreifende Melancholie und das nicht enden wollende Spiel zwischen Gut und Böse: Das sind die drei Eckpfeiler von Disabused. Ultra-Blast-Beats, genickbrechende Grooves und wunderbar melodische Sing-a-long Refrains vermögen auch dem hartgesottensten Hardcore-Tough-Guy oder dem grind-begeisterten Metalhead ein beglücktes Lächeln auf den gepiercten Mund zu zaubern. Doch damit nicht genug: Der Mittelpunkt jeden Songs - der Refrain - lockt auch das verträumteste Emo-Mädchen aus der Reserve.

Warum so viel auf einmal? könnte man fragen. Die Idee dahinter ist einfach: Warum sollte man einseitige Musik machen, wenn es doch so viel auszuprobieren und zu entdecken gilt? Nur eins ist Disabused bei aller Liebe zur Abwechslung wichtig. Es muss ein Song entstehen und kein progressives 20 Minuten Gehacke. Und der Song muss dir den Arsch weg rocken.

Die Musik zu beschreiben mag schwer fallen, die Liveperformance nicht. Derwisch-gleich fliegen die Körper über die Bühne; wahnsinnige Blicke unter hochgereckter Faust und jede Menge energetischer Schweiß: Hardcore-Show eben.

Die Energie für solche Kraftakte schöpfen die Fünf aus dem was ihr Leben bestimmt und was sich in den Songs und Lyrics widerspiegelt: Das Streben Dinge im Kleinen zu veraendern, der Zwang die Wahrheit zu sagen, das Widersprechen, das Nein!-Sagen, das Nachdenken. Natürlich machen die Songs und Konzerte von Disabused Spaß. Um sich den Spaß an der Sache verderben zu lassen, sind sie viel zu musikbegeistert und viel zu sehr die netten Jungs von nebenan. Aber niemand hat gesagt, dass Spaß inhaltslos sein muss.



Raging anger, melancholy that grabs your heart and the never ending fight between the Good and the Evil: That is the core of disabused. Ultra-blast-beats, neck breaking groove and wonderful melodic sing-a-long choruses cannot only bring a smile on to the pierced face of a hardcore tough-guy or the grind-fanatic metalhead. And that is still not enough: Even an emo-girlie will tremble with pleasure when hearing the heart of every song - the refrain.

Why so much at once? you could ask. The idea behind it is simple: Why should you restrict yourself to just one style of music if there is so much try out and to discover? There is just one thing that is really important to disabused inspite of all their love for variety. It ought to be a song and no 20 min-prog-fiddling. And that song got to be kicking some ass.

Whereas it is hard to describe the music, the life-performance is not. Bodies flying over the stage, insane looks under fists high up in the air and a lot of energetic sweat: hardcore-show so to say.

The five guys draw the energy for that kind of show of strength out of what dominates their life and what is reflected in their songs and lyrics: The striving to change things little by little, the urge to speak out the truth, the disagreeing, that saying NO!, the thinking. Of course, the songs and shows of disabused are lots of fun. For not to have fun with the whole thing, the guys are too much into music and too much the type of the guy next door. But noone ever said that fun has got to be meaningless.
