Independent Progress is a Street Rock n' Roll band from Minneapolis, MN. We've been around since 2001, been through a few line up changes, but still intact. We don't spend alot of time singing about a 2 week relationship that ended sadly when we were in 7th grade. The radio and mainstream kind of have that market cornered, so instead we tend to stick to real life topics. Most of our songs are heavily influenced by being workers. It's what we know. It's for the working class, by the working class. We don't stand on stage and stroke our egos and instruments for 10 minutes per song either! Mainly because we aren't cappable of it! But also because our message is brought through lyrics and sing-along-choruses. We hear shit about it from time to time, but that's ok. For all the shit we hear from ppl and other bands, we've done alright over the years. Been around for a long time, we travel the country, record records, shared the stage with some of our favorite bands, and met many great people! Also remained friends through it all.prolly because we lack that pesky ego thing, again! Not bad for a band that has "one catchy song" or "plays one 50min song at shows!" Anyways, we cut our teeth back when this style of music was at its peak, but at somepoint the scene has kind of folded. However we never got the notice so we will continue making tunes until our scene comes back around again! (See you soon, we hope.your sorely missed!) Over the years we have played with bands such as the Hudson Falcons, The GC5, Tanka Ray, Pressure Point, The Briggs, Eightysixed, Sixer, the Branded Ones,Roustabouts (OKC), The Rolemodels, Madcap, Criminal Class USA, The Staggers, Day Old Brutus, and Gut Feeling.
