This was no preconceived notion. There was no way of knowing that we would be putting music in the forefront of our lives. But, after the immediate and enormous response we got after playing only a handful of shows and recording a three song demo, we made Impulsive Decision. Now three years later, we have already had so many triumphs. Endorsement deals with Amp Energy, being signed by Citation Records and the re-release of our full length album Far From Thru are only a few of the reasons we keep moving forward. Yet, even those tremendous feats fail in comparison to the energy and emotion we get from every single show. It's YOU - THE FANS who keep us moving. And as long as you keep listening, we will keep pouring our hearts out into every practice, show and composition notebook. Please leave your comments and questions, we want to hear from you! You are the reason why we do this! Thank you!Recently signed under the Citation Records label, the New Jersey rockers of Impulsive Decision make a strong showing in their first full length album. While the album, Far From Thru, features only 10 tracks there is hardly a weak song among them. The shining strength of Impulsive Decision lies in their technical skills as Brian Murtaugh’s vocals are always on key and follow the flow of each song very well. Murtaugh is also aided by the impressive skill of drummer Josh Beckem and bassist Tom Macferran. For a band that has only been together since 2007 the cohesiveness of their music is striking and comparable to bands working on their fifth album, not their first.- Glen Gabriel of EatSleepBreatheMusic.comWhen I first heard the name I figured I was in for the usual dose of sensitivemale crying, girl jeans andmascara butwas

pleasantly surprised when I broke out this latest disc entitled Far FromThru, an independent release featuring 10 cool tunes of varying timbre and tone.Far

from pretentious, Impulsive Decision look like a bunch of normal dudes playing

traditional, albeit heavy-duty rock and roll in the vein of Blink 182 or Third Eye Blind and they prove that you really cant judge a book by its cover. The vocals impressed me as much as the writing on this disc. This singer really doesn’t sound like the myriad of vocalists that are deep in the typical teen quagmire that’s already so overdone in America. Impulsive Decision's bold, thought out sound supports Murtaugh well, blendingmonster tight guitars,

drums and bass in the heavy punkish vein of AFI and the composition style of Sunny Day Real Estate. - John Pfeiffer of Shore World Magazine

Immediately, once the singing starts, the inflection in singer Brian Murtaugh’s voice recalls Jimmy Eat World. Don’t get me wrong, though, Impulsive Decision holds its own as radio rock perfectly in step with icons like Nickelback, Shinedown, and Staind.

The intensity heard in the strain makes the rock believable as opposed to cliché; a tricky feat to pull off with themes that can apply to anyone’s life. In essence, this is the formula needed for a rock band to make it commercially and stay true to themselves.

All the grooves in the instrumentation allow Far From Thru to act as a driving companion or the soundtrack of choice when that not-so-special someone accidentally steps on your soul.

Concerning technical ability, the solo work on “Lady Black” impresses as it rips through the song like the lyrics rip through the audience. - Ellen Eldridge of Target Audience Magazine
