Fake Bio:

Jed Cappelli and Matt Friedman were born in the Bronx in the late 70's. The pair first met in September of 1982 at the Bronx Mensa Charter School For Immensely Gifted Children (BMCSFIGC). The two bright young boys instantly bonded over their love of music, video arcades and the Fairlight CMI (the worlds first digital audio sampling system), which the school's music department had on loan from Yoko Ono.

At age 7 they began collaborating on hip-hop beats, using audio samples from their favorite atari games and cereal commercials ("show em you're a tiger. shshshow em you're a tiger."). The duo showed great promise up until November of 1985 when Cappelli was kicked out of BMCSFIGC for creating a complex computer virus that temporarily disabled the school's computer network.

Three years passed without contact before they met again at the 1988 FIDE Junior Chess Championship held in Monte Carlo. Reconnected, they returned to the states and decided to get back to their musical roots. At the age of 12, using money they had earned selling Penthouse magazine subscriptions, they were able to design and build their first recording studio, dubbed The Romper Room. Constantly upgraded throughout the years, the duo still works out of this facility today.
