Tag Team Records was established in early 2005 as a way to completely drain the savings accounts of various members of the Kagler family. Our goal as a label is to broaden the scope of DIY/Independent music as the world knows it through releasing culturally relevant, like-minded artists from unlikely locations on an international scale. Our roster currently consists of Lonely China Day (Beijing, PRC), The Submissionaries (Beijing, PRC), Arrows Made of Desire (Beijing, PRC), Du Yun (New York City), Rebuilding the Rights of Statues (Beijing, PRC), Venice is Sinking (Athens, GA), Johnnytwentythree (Cincinnati, OH), and RandomK(e) (Beijing, PRC).

If so, please send physical CDs, band bios and press info to the below address. Also, nothing bumms us out more than bands we don’t know sending us MP3s…so, if you’re seriously interested in working with us, please take the time to stick stuff in envelopes and wait in line at the post office. RandomK(e) – Waiting

Venice is Sinking – Sorry About The Flowers

"…with its co-ed harmonies and wandering streams of dense melodies, Sorry About the Flowers is the perfect soundtrack for unexpected overcast days." – Pitchfork Media

[includes three bonus tracks currently unavailable in the US and a super-fancy, hand written, bilingual lyric sheet…crazy right?!]

Lonely China Day – Sorrow

"There is a profound serenity within the music of Lonely China Day…unlike a lot of international rock that’s all to eager to jettison the local in favor of the imported, Lonely China Day in something far older than the electric guitar." – New York Times

Lonely China Day – Eponymous Ep

"Lonely China Day build spacious clounds of noise perfect for sulking shut-ins." – Chicago Tribune

Rebuilding the Rights of Statues – Cut Off! Ep

"…dark angular rock, akin to much of the new-New Wave rock that first began appearing in New York and London in the early 2000s. One of the most acclaimed underground acts in Beijing, the band’s latest Ep features Brian Eno boards." – Fader

Arrows Made of Desire – Songs That Sell Fish

"All instruments for this impressive debut were recorded on a simple 8-track, adding to the DIY, unpredictable nature of the music, with subtle production complementing strong song writing…accessible, melodic, experimental, diverse; check, check, check, check." - Time Out (Beijing)

The Submissionaries – Royal Jelly Ep

"If the Submissionaries were around circa 1993, they would be opening for Chapel Hill’s Polvo or New York’s Sleepyhead, belting out little fuzz-pop gems and hawking the four-song Royal Jelly Ep on lime green marshmallow swirl seven-inch vinyl." - That’s Beijing

Coming Soon!!!

Arrows Made of Desire – Songs That Sell Out
