"Who is IanJames?

 This is usually the question asked, and rightfully so for the hardworking up and coming musician. Though he's a product of Portland, Oregon, being raised in North Portland, IanJames full musical talent is continuing to blossom both on a local and national level. From humble beginnings, IanJames talent was cultivated through an appreciation of soulful and true music, and this is reflective in his personal musical stylings. Embracing numerous genres, IanJames' style encompasses all that is good with music. While performing, one can hear every one of his influences ( i.e. Michael Jackson,Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Craig David etc.). IanJames is all about the music and leaves no genre unheard. Within a single set with IanJames you will hear music ranging from Stevie Wonder/Soul all the way to Oasis/rock and everything in between. IanJames has been able to fuse all of that music into a funky, acoustic soul, energy-filled, toe tapping experience listeners can truly enjoy. His personal composition of original music, rocks the house usually leaving listeners with two questions; “Who is this singing?” and “Who is IanJames?”. Taking an unprecedented approach, IanJames opted to perform on a local level, forgoing the major label approach and helping to form Virtuoso Music Group, which concentrates on providing a fully encompassing music experience. As a result, IanJames musical experience and portfolio has grown in leaps and bounds. Presented with the opportunity to perform on the first Thursdays of every month from May thru September, IanJames teamed with Nike SPARQ to provide live acoustic performances which became a summer mainstay. All the while, IanJames, with the guidance of local musician Tim Ellis, self produced his first 6 song originals album that had great independent success. Coming off his summer successes, IanJames promptly was asked to give independent live performances for company's including Mario's Clothing of Portland, Candy Ultra Lounge, Koin News 6 (featured performer on ‘Keeping It Local'), Couture Ultra Lounge and as a featured artist for Portland Fashion Week. Currently IanJames performs on a regular basis at Candy Ultra Lounge and numerous local events, wineries, private parties, and charity events. Last year IanJames was asked to sing the National Anthem for the Trail Blazers 'Fan Appreciation Night'. Lending his hand to aid children, IanJames was a featured musician the YMCA in New York lending his talent to a benefit children's music programs. He has been featured at events, restaurants and jam sessions from Washington to California and everywhere in between. Even with a mounting resume' of success, IanJames remains determined, approachable and humble. Seen greeting listeners, responding to fan emails and drafting mailing list letters, IanJames' heart remains with the listeners. IanJames is poised to be Portland's next big thing
