i!AMYOU

The kids didn’t understand it; i!AMYOU said they were punk, but the kids didn’t see anything punk about their music, this was what made i!AMYOU punk. Formed more out of neccesity than anything else, their unique breed of abstract angry pop saw them make great leaps in their short 7 month span as a proper band. These 7 months saw the band streaking, smashing and screaming their way across many venues including 2 infamous gigs in the capital, and also saw them share bills with the likes of Gay Against You, The Teenagers, So So Modern and Maths Class. Despite a swelling fanbase and being championed by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens , i!AMYOU disbanded in September of 2008, citing “Oscar Whyte” as a reason.
