As long as Kareem Dunlap, bka HUNIT GRAND, is present in the game, the future of hip hop will continue to look bright. Rappers may come a dime a dozen, but when in the presence of a true star, you can’t help but to recognize game. With an extremely poignant delivery , swagger in abundance and a work ethic that’d even make Jay-Z proud, Dunlap, aka Hunit Grand is positioning himself as the next-fresh-thing to emerge from the diversely talented stable of Young Boss artists.

Born in Harlem,USA and bred in Virginia, the would-be MC took early cues from the example of his single mother, who he credits with “schooling him to the game.” The youngster would absorb the best of both locations, providing him with a unique ability to speak and relate to a wide array of hip hop fans. After deciding that the art of emceeing was his calling, Hunit Grand tirelessly honed his skills before getting an opportunity to cut his teeth opening up for Styles P in Washington, D.C. at only 18 years old. After winning over the crowd with his infectious stage presence, the young rhymer would sign a label deal that would eventually turn sour, leaving his career in jeopardy. But as they say, hustlers don’t sleep, and Hunit Grand continued to grind, knowing that hip hop would need a savior.

After moving out to Los Angeles in 2006, he would be recruited to join the growing Young Boss imprint by his producer Jay Fre$h Kick$ and rapper Yung Berg. Since signing on the dotted line, Hunit Grand has proved to be nothing short of a machine, feverishly cranking out an impressive body of work, some of which would turn into his own mixtape franchise, Bodyment, which would serve as both his introduction to the world as well as an appetizer for those who have already converted to his unique brand of hip hop music.

Having collaborated with artists like Erick Sermon, Ray J, Chingy, Yung Berg, Keith Murray and the entire Yung Boss collective, Hunit Grand has time and time again proven that his can hold his own amongst giants. His signature ability to finesse any beat and paint an amazingly vivid picture with any subject has gained him a growing reputation as an animal on tracks, leaving fans to eagerly anticipate the coming of his soon to be released debut album N.O.D.P. (Number One Draft Pick), which speaks to his status as the next lyrical legend in the game.

A throwback to the days of artists like Big Daddy Kane that can appeal to both the ladies as well as the hard legs,Hunit Grand is continuing to build momentum with a tried and true formula that seems to have been lost in today’s hip hop arena, just making simply good music. Combining an insatiable passion for his craft, genuine confidence and, most importantly, the ability to create new school classics, Hunit Grand is forcing the masses of nickel and dime rappers to get their weight up. Continuing to raise the bar with his lyrical content, song concepts and overall star quality, remember the name, because you’ll be thanking him later.
