Hummingbirds Punk Blues Revolution is a three mans band that plays ramshackle bluespunk.

One drumkit(haha!), two guitars, three voices, a lot of raw driven passion and a threesome (sometimes four!) that plays like mad,

is what it takes to get the high energetic punk blues of Hummingbirds.

Hummingbirds consists of;

Jules Franssen the snarekiller.He's the madman behind the kit.the guy with the laughs, the girls and the beers. Likes to snap asses and hit cymbals.he's a great soundengineer too! Welcome aboard my son!Jules is a big Nick Cave-lover and wants to play drums for Daft Punk

Erik van Tilburg (Vibrotones, Dj Boogaloo) plays the drums too! (but not when he's in his second homeland Tanzania), with a backpack full of blues and rock & roll experience, inspired by Jimi Hendrix, The Paladins, Andre Williams, the Hives and a lot of SOOOOOUUUUULL! Spank that snaredrum, baby!!!

sometimes these 2 mf's are together on stage for a 2 drummer show, hell yeah what a great sound that is! Check out the doubledrum-madness (scheduled now from May 2010!)

Geert Leenders (Tupelo Honey, Blimey!) plays the guitar and is the "punk" in the punkblues. He's the recalcitrant party; when two of the Birds go right he'll

go left. It's a walking pop encyclopaedia and some of his favourite bands are; The Stooges, Neil Young, The Gun Club, Captain Beefheart, Dinosaur Jr and Guided By Voices.Thin Lizzy rocks!!!

Marc Roosen (met Roosen, Buffalo Skinners) is the one chord, growling boogie blues guitarist, who manages to hit all six strings at every stroke, trying to keep in balance with the rhythm, and his recalcitrant opponent.

His musical roots lay in between tearjerkers (Old Dutch Trad., Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Will Oldham), traditional American folk music (Hank Williams, Woody Guthry) and blues (J.L.Hooker, Leadbelly,

R.L. Burnside, Capt.Beefheart, Jon Spencer) Ask Marc to play "De Fles" after a show! Be prepared!



Together they are responsible for the present Hummingbirds sound; ramshackle, shaken, whipped up punkblues!

The band plays very energetic, and it's a relief to see these three fanatics play at one off their gigs. Sometimes they add Mr Luke on harps for the complete madness in sound and sight, what a monster!! A harp, a Bassman and his vibes just launch the guys on stage!!



Hummingbirds shared stage with, or opened for Jon Spencer, Eagles of Death Metal, Dave Gonzalez' Hacienda Brothers, Stinky Lou and the GoonMat, Triggerfinger, PeterPanSR, Nashville Pussy, Supersuckers, T-99, Cuban Heels, Apers, Fun Lovin'Criminals, Voicst and many many more! The best has yet to come!!
