Hudson Laird

Hudson Laird is a singer/songwriter, & guitarist born in Natchez, Mississippi. Hudson is most notable as being the founder, & lead guitarist of the Rock N' Roll band BISHOP GUNN. In the summer of 2014 Hudson was asked to perform Friday Oct. 14th at The Natchez, Great Mississippi River Balloon Race, & decided to put together a band to perform. When promoters asked what the band was called Hudson decided on the name BISHOP GUNN after seeing the name on a tomb stone in the Natchez, Mississippi cemetery years before. Hudson is quoted as saying "I remember seeing the name BISHOP GUNN on a tomb stone with a giant cross behind it & immediately thought damn, I like that. I want to name my band that one day, something about it just stuck." The first BISHOP GUNN show turned out to be a huge success immediately transforming the band from a fun studio project to something serious. Soon after Hudson Laird & BISHOP GUNN stared recording & touring non-stop gaining a "cult like" following due to the fact the band was bringing back real Rock N' Roll with screaming lead guitar, & Robert Plant like vocals. After 3 years of paying their dues in the smaller clubs, big venues, & festivals, BISHOP GUNN has been sought out by many record labels but due to the fact the band wanted to keep control of everything & continue to build a grass roots following offers have been turned down. Hudson Laird & BISHOP GUNN also became friends with Mike Wolfe from History Channel's hit show "American Pickers", Kid Rock & Justin Timberlake. Even appearing in Timberlake's "William Rast" clothing promotional video where Hudson Laird plays the Star Spangled Banner (Hendrix syle) on the opening scene while Justin Timberlake & friends stand in front of a giant American flag. The band has released only one self-titled EP on it's own record label that continues to sell thousands of copies. After extensive touring Hudson Laird & BISHOP GUNN played its last show Saturday, November 12th 2016 in Natchez Mississippi at the historic antebellum home Longwood, & have been on a hiatus since. Currently Hudson Laird is recording his debut album expected to be released summer of 2017 of which will be Rock N' Roll, Heavy Blues, & Soul, also featuring other guest artist.
