Pete is one of London's busiest freelance bass players. His career has seen him tour Europe and the USA with some of the world's greatest Rock 'n Roll legends.
In the early 1970's, Pete, along with Drummer Terry Earl, formed his first band, the "Flying Saucers", who went on to record several albums for labels such as Sony CBS and EMI, and appeared in the film "Blue Suede shoes".
For several years the "Saucers" toured relentlessly, Rocking the clubs and festivals across Europe, They also toured with Bill Haley and the Comets and Pete provided the bass for Chuck Berry on U.K and European tours.
In the eighties, Pete co-founded "Alligator Records", which gave young up and coming bands such as The Polecats, The Meteors and Johnny Key their first chance to record.
Although no longer a member of the Flying Saucers, Pete continued to perform with bands across Europe and in 1988 began working with renowned Nashville vocal quartet the Jordanaires.
This continued with a UK tour in 1992 which included Elvis Presley Guitarist and drummer Scotty Moore and D.J. Fontana.
Pete toured and recorded with Scotty for the next eighteen years, performing concerts and working in Scotty's studio with many great musicians.
Pete is always in demand as a session player. In 2003, Pete was invited to Nashville to record an album with Ten years after guitar legend Alvin Lee. The much acclaimed album, "Alvin Lee In Tennessee", teamed Pete once again with drummer DJ Fontana. Pete has since become Alvin Lee's regular touring bass player.
In 2004, Pete performed a six week tour of the UK with Alvin Lee ending at the Royal Albert Hall, London, followed by an extensive tour of Italy.
In 2005 Pete performed at Abbey Road Studios, London with Scotty Moore, Eric Clapton, Ronnie Wood and Albert Lee for the DVD release "Tribute to the King".
The DVD also includes performances by Mark Knopfler, Bill Wyman, David Gilmour and Martin Taylor.
2007, Pete toured the UK and Ireland with guitar legend James Burton and singer, songwriter Billy Swan.
Also in 2007, Pete performed with Scotty Moore on his final live performance at the "last man standing" concert at the Peabody hotel in Memphis Tn during the Elvis week celebrations.
In 2008, in addition to several European dates with Alvin Lee, Pete toured Sweden with Piano legend Glen D. Hardin, B.B Cunningham and Sun studios producers /engineers /guitarists, James Lott and Matt Ross Spang.
2009 recording credits include:
Release of "Western Union", an album of original songs, the result of a long term collaboration with ace vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Liam Grundy.
Recording in Nashville with Billy Swan, Bucky Barrett and Fred Saterfield for a forthcoming album.
Recording soundtrack for ITV musical drama "Caught in a trap".
In 2010 Pete released his first solo album "Beat the Blues". Twelve great tracks recorded in the UK and Nashville, USA, featuring Pete on Vocals and Bass with world renowned musicians including Scotty Moore, Alvin Lee, Billy Swan and Boots Randolph. (album available via this website)
Spring 2011, Pete played an extensive tour of Holland with Linda Gail Lewis and Annie Marie Dolan.
Pete performed several festivals with Alvin Lee throughout the year and recorded for Alvin's new album.
Pete collaborated with Jackson Sloan for the release of his 2011 solo album "Saturday Clothes".
In November 2011 Pete was invited to perform in Jackson, TN, USA, with Legendary Sun studio musician, drummer JM VanEaton, Sun studios producer and songwriter Jack Clement, Charlie Rich Jr, James Lott and Billy Burnette. Along with Jack Clement and Billy Burnette, Pete was inducted as an honorary member into the International Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
In December 2011, Pete performed at the Gibson Cafe, Memphis, TN, USA to celebrate Scotty Moore's 80th Birthday. Guests included Roland Janes, Billy Swan, George Klein, Jerry Schilling and Priscilla Presley.
Also in December 2011, Pete recorded original songs for a forthcoming album with Liam Grundy, Dave Briggs and Jim Russell at the legendary Sun Studios, Memphis and also several tracks for Paul Ansell's forthcoming album.
Pete continues to work with many of today's established "roots" musicians, and looks forward to a rockin' 2012!
