Imagine someone that can take a paper clip and turn it into a communication device like MacGuyver, chops beats like an Iron Chef slices bacon, can play an explosive timbale solo with just a keyboard and a mouse, and can bring a new perspective to any style the music calls for- and you get a glimpse into the talent of Patrick Parker.

Patrick describes his own music as fun and eclectic blend of layered synth textures, goofy, offbeat melodies, obtuse layers and instrumental arrangements while at the same time demonstrating deep production techniques. (Patrick samples his own playing for most of his tracks). “Music is about stories. I never choose to work on a song that I can’t relate to in some way, shape, or form. My music will always reflect who I am.”

Patrick has worked on several remixes under creative commons licenses for artist such as Radiohead, The Roots, Jazzanova, Anti-pop Consortium, Matisyahu and others. Not only is Patrick flexing his production skills music in various genres, he’s taking things to the next level by producing them in 5.1 surround sound. Patrick’s most recent project includes engineering, producing, and mixing Jason Fraticelli’s e.p., Jason Fraticelli & The Wet Dreams. The ep is a mix of Classic Rock, Folk, Latin, and crazy compositions. A new up-tempo Broken Beat song is in the works with Lady Alma on vocals, Dai Miyazaki on guitar and Jason Fraticelli on upright bass. Also in the mix for Patrick is a new techno ep to be released in 2010 entitled, P.A.T. (Pulsating Ambient Techno). Patrick is also part of the well-known Tigerhook Corporation, this crew of nine DJs and producers have releases on prestigious labels including The End, Oblong, Siesta LTR, Shaboom, Hooj Choons and even Bedrock. Other members of the crew include Randall Jones, Chris Udoh, Hollis P. Monroe, Hito, Deep C, Mark Pappas, Philip Charles and Rodrigo Ramirez. Patrick learned invaluable knowledge on house music from these guys.

In 2006 Patrick released his last mixtape, “Die DJ Die – Die Rockstar Die”. Having gotten bored with DJing after 15 years, this was his catharsis. Only choosing music from the 1950's-1970's, the mix is 39 minutes long and has 40+ songs. Funk, Folk, Rock, Latin, Jazz, Soul. So many great songs in such a short amount of time teases the listener for more music. “Die DJ Die – Die Rockstar Die” is guaranteed to be one the most unique mixes in any collection.

Founded by Patrick Parker in 2003, Modus Medium is a audio production company providing sonic branding for film, video games, TV, and ad agencies. The company delivers sound design, music and audio post-production services. Patrick’s years of experience as entrepreneur and producer has allowed the company to work quickly and efficiently from storyboard to final delivery on several international campaigns for Nokia, Nike, and Kipling just to name a few. Through these opportunities Patrick was fortunate enough to work with some of Philadelphia's finest musicians including Jake Morelli, Tony Catastrophe, Sigmund Washington, Elliot Levin, Patrick Hughes, Jafar Barron, Jason Fraticelli and others.

"After beating myself up for years on the same songs, trying to make that perfect first artistic statement”, Patrick has countless side projects completed successfully, turned a South Philadelphia dump into an amazing and unique recording studio, and has become a prolific producer that can effortlessly push his own boundaries.

Patrick says his goal, as an artist is to “be really honest in his productions about who I am and what I think”. This honesty draws his listeners in to a better understanding of who he is, which is what a skilled artist always does.
