In an age when music is usually the last thing on the music industry’s mind, it takes a strong set of characters to stick to their guns and play music that they really enjoy and which reflects their tastes, influences and lives. One such band is Howards Alias.

Howards Alias have been playing music together since 1999 and over 3 full length albums and various EPs and demos, have transcended many musical trends to create something rarely heard of today; a unique and constantly developing sound.

Combining many aspects of popular music, the Howards Alias sound is dynamic one.

Ranging from powerful, crushing riff-led rock and energetic, upbeat grooves to off-kilter, quirky guitar melodies and overwhelming, emotive breakdowns, the Howards Alias sound never strays from the initial focus; the song.

Howards Alias’s well crafted songs are an honest, meaningful and truly unique reflection on life in modern times. The songs are propelled by the precise and powerful rhythm section of Rob King and David Ransom on the Drum Set and Bass Guitar, with the talented Matthew Roberts and Nick Horne adding a sound almost forgotten about in contemporary rock music, a horn section. With backing vocals more in turn with old fashioned rock and roll than anything contemporary and Nick Horne’s incendiary classical-influenced keyboard flourishes, singer/songwriter Matthew Reynolds’s complex, melodic guitar playing, his unique lyrical outlook and exceptionally distinctive voice are left in the fore front of this truly extraordinary band.

Howards Alias are currently about to embark on recording their eagerly awaited 4th album, since their brief hiatus in 2005-2006.

The future of Howards Alias, if the past is anything to go by, will be an exciting one, made possible by 5 true individuals with a commitment to making original, honest music and spreading a message of equality, anti-elitism and non-violence!
