BIOGRAPHY
Trumpet player Kelley Bolduc founded Hot Like Fire during her last year at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA in 1989. She met a student from Barbados and traveled there with him. After falling in love with Caribbean music she returned to Boston to start her own band, commencing as an eleven-piece band with a live percussionist, two singers, two guitarists, bass, keyboards, drums and a three-piece horn section performing reggae and calypso music. Its members hailed from different Caribbean islands and America. Through the years Hot Like Fire has refined itself to a contemporary six-piece band.
Hot Like Fire is a fun, exciting reggae party band led by sexy trumpet player, vocalist, keyboardist, Kelley B. They play a great mix of reggae covers, originals and soca music with a little trumpet seasoning. A night with Hot Like Fire will leave you feeling good vibes and hopefully sweating!
With their debut CD "Hot Like Fire", the band swept the 2000 Boston Caribbean Music Awards winning CD of the Year, Best Male Vocalist and Producer of the Year. They also received the International World Music Award for Reggae Ambassador.
Their most recent CD entitled "Reggae Around the World" uncovers hidden songwriting talents within Hot Like Fire, layered with reggae versions of R&B tunes, taking you on a reggae ride around the world. You'll catch yourself playing this CD over and over again.
Hot Like Fire has emerged as the most energetic and sought after band on the reggae music scene during the past 20 years, performing 5 nights a week during their summer season. They are well known for their reggae versions of American pop and R&B songs and perform many classic songs by Bob Marley and others as well as current reggae and soca music. People are always dancing when Hot Like Fire is jammin!
