Genevieve

Born in the capitol city of Michigan on August 14th, I was named by my mother (a devoted fan of Camelot) whom debated between Guinevere or Genevieve as my given name. From that day on St. Genevieve won the battle and I carried a French name that would be mispronounced countless times.

Eventually, I moved south of the Mason Dixon line to live on the South Eastern Coast. There I spent my time designing interiors of major hotels and residential homes, being a mother to two beautiful angels & experiencing a failed marriage that would give me enough writing material as a "tear in the bucket" country writer. I am still seeking fulfillment for my creative releases down this constant path of learning experiences called LIFE.

I am and have always been a creative person, with music being a huge part of that creativity. Music started my early days of life while mingling with rhythmic hums of the milk pumps in the barn on my grandparent’s dairy farm. Grandpa swore the cows gave more milk while listening to WITL versus the rock stations my Uncle enjoyed. My relationship with country music was nurtured through this experience & continued through listening to my Dad's ol' vinyls & reel to reels of Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Pat Greenwood, etc. My evenings were often concluded by bass thumps of the local bands playing in our family owned honky tonk in a village of middle Michigan.

Most of my memories can be related to a particular song. I still can recall the smells, tastes, and colors of moments just by listening to a song. I am a true believe that music can be the purest form of communication. How often can you communicate with another person for almost 3 minutes straight without interjections? With music you can captivate a person for an extended period of time, make them laugh, cry and fall in love. Music is a reflection of life. At times it is so simple, like three chords and the truth. Then other times, it can be as complex as an orchestral score.



I often wonder if this world truly understands the extreme power of a musical note. I do and I am truly grateful to music as it allows me the freedom to express myself. I have had some wonderful experiences within the Entertainment Industry since getting involved in music again. In the early 2000's, I started taking small gigs from time to time in Nashville. Since that time, I have found myself on stage with Keith Urban for the 2006 CMT Awards Show (the video is in my blog section), Christmas caroling with Micky Dolenz, guest starring in various music videos (see Cledus T. Promotions

Currently I am trying my hardest to stay busy since I tend not to sit idle too long. I love to constantly challenge myself & not let my mind go to waste. I continue to look forward to the opportunities & challenges my new altered life & career have in store for me! I am a lyricist by trade but am looking for growth in being able to compose music on my own. By day I promote and handle public relations through my business h.w.c & co.
