Hollie Jett was born in Rosie, Arkansas and was raised around music all of her life. She was singing and dancing long before she knew what it was to be singing and dancing. Her father, Harvey Jett, was the lead guitarist and songwriter for the 70'southern rock-and-roll band Black Oak Arkansas. This Atlantic Records act was signed by the legendary Ahmet Ertegun himself. Out of their six albums, three went gold and one platinum. Touring every major city in the US and Europe, they shared the stage with acts like Fleetwood Mac, Blackfoot, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Peter Frampton, Kansas, Black Sabbath, and the Eagles to name a few.
On her mother's side of the family, her late grandfather and great-uncle, Alton Lumpkin and "Little Troy" Lumpkin, were well-known brothers from Atlanta that would draw large crowds when they were just eight and ten years old playing bluegrass and gospel. They toured for years with The LeFevres, who were nominated for several Grammy Awards over the years.
After attending Old Miss, in Oxford, MS, Hollie moved to Los Angeles on a whim and lived there for a few years. After meeting a talent agent on the street while shopping, she got a chance to appear on the set of The Drew Carey Show her first week. She appeared on sitsoms like Friends, Dharma and Greg, Power Rangers, CSI, Gilmore Girls and Scrubs multiple times.
Hollie Jett, being raised around music, naturally became a songwriter. Her imaginative lyrics are enticing and refined. After meeting and singing demos for a Canadian producer in Los Angeles, Roger LaRoque, he urged her to take her country voice to Nashville.
Hollie is presently continuing to write and perform in Nashville with her band Tupelo Jane. She plays piano, guitar, mandolin, flute, and harmonica.
