Highmoor reigns from Stockton, California straight up from Highmoor street. The band started with Baldo, Denis, Louise, and Alex a.k.a. Gil; however, they didn't have a solid sound. They actually didn't have any songs. Soon after, fate brought Alex and Thomas to the same class at Delta College. What started as a conversation sharing similar musical interests, ended up as a jam session at Baldo's house. During this first jam session, "Old Jack" was written and Highmoor was born. After a few months, Highmoor played many shows, more of which were house parties, and they also recorded a few songs on their own. Highmoor was all good. After those first recordings, their contrasting schedules made practicing and booking shows difficult. It seemed like they weren't going anywhere. Due to some creative differences, a new guitar player was needed. Thomas was getting better and Louise was still kind of new with metal. Thomas wanted a guitar player who was more accessible and one who could keep up with him. John joined the band and replaced Louise on guitar. Highmoor then became more manageable. With the new guitarist, songs started getting heavier and shows were more entertaining. There was no doubt about it, John was a great addition to Highmoor. After John was settled in, they hit up the Ice Chamber Studio where they recorded their first 5 song ep. Highmoor played more shows and wrote more songs. Together, they were progressing. As one great year went by, Baldo the drummer set up his very own studio. He called this studio the Black Bullet studio. This is where "Calvin in the land of Giants" was recorded along with "Trusting the Widow". Thomas and John learned new guitar techniques and brought them to the table. When playing shows, they improvise on stage and always try their hardest to do something different but tasteful. It would be wrong to say that Highmoor is a perfect band with perfect people who have never had an argument or a disagreement about anything. Like any normal band, Highmoor had its ups and downs. These hardships brought anger and soul into the music with songs full of emotion. They have never followed the standard verse chorus verse chorus arrangement like most music. Instead, they try their hardest not to repeat the same riff twice in one song. They write their music progressively so it is always changing. They approach music with different techniques and with their different point of views. They try to be as distinctive as possible.

They are HIGHMOOR. They are metal.
