Hernan Hecht X-Pression Quartet
El grupo se forma a comienzos del 2003, por la iniciativa de Hernán
Hecht, al querer profundizar más en las posibilidades que el jazz contemporáneo
ofrece, como en este caso, una mezcla de hard bop, free jazz, jazz tradicional,
música aleatoria y música electrónica dejando claro que
la música del cuarteto es una fusión de estilos sin caer en lo
que hoy es llamado jazz Fusión.
El cuarteto esta conformado por Gabriel Hernández
en Piano Fender Rhodes, Ken Basman en Guitarra, Aarón Cruz en Contrabajo
y Hernán Hecht en batería, todos talentosos músicos activamente
propositivos dentro de la escena del jazz en Mexico. La propuesta principal
del grupo se basa en el interplay, uno de los elementos mas importantes que
se desarrollaron en todo el proceso creativo que aporto el jazz al siglo XX,
donde cada vez mas se pueden percibir las actitudes humanas transformadas en
lenguaje o sistemas de comunicación. De esta manera es como un grupo
puede profundizar no solo en un estilo musical sino en su capacidad personal
de comunicarse, dándole a la música intensidad, humor, contemplación,
sinceridad, lógica, originalidad, complicidad, etc. en esencia, todo
tipo de actitud humana.
El grupo se presento en el Festival JazzHabito,
Papa Beto Jazz Bistro, El Convite, ArtLife JazzFest, Jazzorca, Festival del
Sur (Argentina), Notorius, Festival de Jazz de la Escuela Superior de Música
2003, Festival Internacional de Jazz Alternativo en Guadalajara, Festival Internacional
de Puertas de Las Americas, Festival de Jazz Tlalpan 2004, Festival Internacional
de Morelia, Festival Internacional de Merida, Festival de Jazz de Campeche,
y fue invitado al Festival Internacional Heineken en Tailandia y al festival
de jazz "Patagonia Jazz" en Argentina.

This group was formed at the beginning of 2003 through the initiative of Hernán
Hecht, who wanted to delve deeper into the possibilities that contemporary
jazz has to offer, just like in this case: a mixture of hard-bop, free-jazz,
traditional jazz, aleatory and electronic music. However, it should be made
clear that the music of this quartet is a fusion styles that does not fall
into what is currently labeled as jazz-fusion.
The quartet is conformed by Gabriel Hernandez
who plays Fender Rhodes Piano, Ken Basman in guitar, Aarón Cruz double
bass and Hernán Hecht drums. All of them musicians who work actively
and set forth new ideas in the Mexican jazz scene. The main proposal of the
group is based on one of the most important elements developed along the creative
process that jazz contributed to the twentieth century: interplay. And it is
certainly in the twentieth century that we can increasingly perceive human
attitudes transformed into language or into communication systems. This is
the way in which musicians in a group can get immersed in a musical style as
well as in their personal ability to communicate, granting intensity, humor,
contemplation, sincerity, logic, originality and complicity to music, providing
it essentially with every kind of human action.
