Created in February 2007, Herb Project is a musical entity based on the meeting of Delphine Herbaut (Herb) and Bruno Gaia (Project) and delivers the sound known as “Cathartic Goth Rock” or CGR.

CGR is partly characterised by the use of the aristotelian concept of catharsis, hence its name, and/or the Joycean concept of epiphany. These influences make themselves feel in the construction of songs which are based on soft/weird beginnings growing into bursts of uninhibited passion expressed in furious or extatic musical tones. ------ In 2009, Herb Project incorporated two new members so as to make the band a live experience. Romain Gaia (Bruno's brother) came first to become the live lead guitarist, and with him came Xavier Robin who applied to be the live drummer and proved he was the right person for the part indeed. Herb Project as a live experience surely has a different taste than it's studio recordings, but its post-rock, noisy-goth sound definitely is cathartic. So there comes the Cathartic Goth Rock live!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Créé en Février 2007, Herb Project est une entité musicale basée sur la rencontre de Delphine Herbaut (Herb) et Bruno Gaia (Project) et produit le son connu sous le nom de “Cathartic Goth Rock” ou CGR.

Le CGR est en partie caractérisé par l’utilisation du concept aristotélicien de catharsis, d’où son nom, et/ou du concept Joycien d’épiphanie. Ces influences se font ressentir dans la construction de chansons basées sur des débuts calmes/étranges se transformant en explosions de passion désinhibée exprimée dans des tons musicaux furieux ou extatiques. ------ En septembre 2009, Herb Project a incorporé deux nouveaux membres afin de se produire sur scène. Romain Gaia (le frère de Bruno) est arrivé le premier pour prendre le poste de guitariste solo sur scène, et il a amené avec lui Xavier Robin qui s'est présenté pour le poste de batteur et s'est montré définitivement à la hauteur de la tâche. Sur scène, Herb Project sonne assurément différemment que sur album, mais son son post-rock et noisy reste absolument cathartique.
