TENKI

TENKI is a Chicago indie rock band with 5 albums of epic-ish gritty pop numbers that require your ears AND brain for the ride. A unique sound that inspired CMJ to call them as a "bristling sextet that has enlisted a veritable cornucopia of sonic ingredients. sugary sweet harmonies over irresistible pop hooks, as well as searing aural assaults. hardly just another Albini-biting rock band from Chicago."



TENKI can mean "weather" in Japanese and their music is influenced by the stormy weather of their lives: love, separation, frustrations, exultations -- elements of modern life and the result of following muses despite better judgment.



On Future Appletree records since 2003, the band will be releasing their 6th album in 2010.
