Rapper, Singer, and songwriter Hea-Von has loved music since an early age. Growing up in Motown, inspiration was hard to find. It wasn't until her foster mother encouraged her to sing in their church, that she started to come into who all of Detroit now knows as Hea-Von.
In her career the Detroit native has gained the attention of many labels such as Collipark Records, but realized that she couldn't have as much control as she wanted over her own work. In 2006 she started "?.I.S. (Who Is She Records)", a label that focuses primarily on female entertainers. The entertainer started her own label because of her passion to make women a driving force in the entertainment business.
"I am trying to be the Oprah of Hip-Hop. Meaning I want to help make women a prominent force in the music industry. There are many woman entertainers but not many entertainers and label owners." -Hea-Von
Hea-Von has performed all over the Midwest and many are anticipating her new release "#1 D-Girl" from the album entitled, "Gettin In Da Game."
"The song stands for #1 Driven. It stands to let everyone know I'm #1 when it comes to having drive and focus to reach my goals. Where ever you want to go in life, takes drive to get there! What I am trying to do no one has done before." -Hea-Von
She also gets inspiration from such artist as Lauren Hill, Tina Turner, Toni Braxton, and gospel sensation Helen Baylor.
Hea-Von has collaborated with many established recording artists including the late Detroit native MC Breed. Being a feature on one of his songs inspired her to continue to be a driving force in the industry. Shortly after, Hea-Von and two other artists formed G.M.C. (Get Money Crew) and dominated venues in Detroit. Touring across all of Michigan and the Midwest Hea-Von quickly became a household name.
The new single "#1 D-Girl" is set to release along with her debut album "Gettin In Da Game", late 2010.
