Jhavaughn Jackson (born October 9, 1986), better known by his stage name Jhavaughn J., is a 22 year old American Rap/R&B artist. After exceeding his goals with his 3 released mixtapes, and being an opening act for many major artists, he has quickly cleared a lane for himself to evolve into the complete musician he is today. With his determination, humble mentality, versatility, and willingness to “go that extra mile,” Jhavaughn J. has put together a solid resume that truthfully speaks for itself.



Since the 3rd grade when he first picked up a basketball, he has been no stranger to success. Always keeping good grades in the classroom, he also pushed himself to make it in athletics as well. In his freshman year of high school, he earned himself a Full ride academic scholarship to Northern Arizona University, and became the only freshman player to make the varsity basketball team. Unexpectedly, as his senior year came, many things in his life slowly started to change.



With the separation of Jhavaughn J’s parents, he came to the realization that basketball was no longer his passion or his escape from things that were affecting him. While listening to music with some friends, he found music as another source of happiness that allowed him to express himself. It was that day that he began to take everything he had bottled up inside, and release it through music. Jhavaughn J’s experiences and personal views have become the foundation of his lyrical content, which allows his listeners to relate to him on a more personal stand point.



“The feeling I get, when I see my listeners making a connection with my music is indescribable. It proves to me everyday that this is where I am supposed to be… this is my life.” Jhavaughn J. says.
