Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, 27-year-old Skillz started writing in the 8th grade (his aunt, Nona Hendrix, was part of the 70's group, LaBelle), it didn't take long for him to find his way into music. SKILLZ, gets his name from his long list of musical talents such as artist, writer, and producer, has worked on projects with MacBreezy, Lil Scrappy, Rass Kass, Faybo, Khao, BrownStone, T-Boz, Nivea etc. Skillz of Atlanta, Georgia, Blaze-1 of Carson, California, & Profit also from Carson, California put together two of the countries hottest regions currently reigning over hip-hop to form SouthWest Click. Having grown up together Blaze-1 and Profit have been rhyming together for well over 10 years of their life but it was through their affiliations with Patchwerk Recording Studios, that they hooked up with Skillz in early 2001. Blaze-1, and Profit who were then part of local Los Angeles based trio, Last Word Clique, came to Atlanta in 2000 to work with Blaze’s older brother, Curtis Daniel III, COO of Patchwerk and longtime friend of Patchwerk CEO and former Atlanta Falcon, Bob Whitfield.

Growing up in Carson, California ( the city north of Long Beach, southwest of Compton) 26-year old Blaze-1 and 26 year old Profit were constantly surrounded by the notorious Crips and Bloods gangs. While everyone in their hoods were out gangbanging rapping always took precedence over negativity for these two. Profit and Blaze 1 spent most of their time busting raps on the block. They both cite musical influences like Tupac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ras Kass, Ice Cube, and NWA for their Westside flavor but feel as if their style is more universal and versatile.

Representing the southern half of SouthWest Click, Skillz got his start in music early on. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, 27-year-old Skillz started writing in the 8th grade. Coming from a musical family, (his aunt, Nona Hendrix, was part of the 70's group, LaBelle), it didn't take long for him to find his way into music. SKILLZ, who gets his name from his long list of musical talents such as artist, writer, and producer, has worked on projects with T-Boz of TLC and R&B artist, Nivea. A big fan of UGK, NWA, Outkast, old school, and alternative music, Skillz brings witty humor and lyrical finesse to every track.

Expect SouthWest Click’s debut album, “SouthernCaliforniaSixty

FourHydraulicMusic”, to drop in the summer of 2008. Until then, catch them on your local radio station and performing at the hottest venues and car shows in your city. CONTACT!!: 404.969.7222 or 404.874.9880
