Hands Down has always strived to deliver their message through their powerful music. They don’t just want to be heard, they want you to feel the emotion and intensity they deliver. They want you to discover each song and participate in the creation of their breed of rock music. It’s not every day that one finds a band that is constantly searching for new ways to improve their sound and improve their unique way of representing it. With the latest addition of their on-stage lighting that follows each push and each hit, you are sure to feel the impact from this energetic rock ensemble.

The band started out at Alien Phetus Studio in East Los Angeles (better known as Allen’s basement). After Ryan Culton and Allen Woolsey formed the band in 2005, it would be a long journey to make Hands Down the musical force that they are today. But they were both ready and eager for this journey. The founding members of the band then came across an eager bassist who happened to live in Ohio, but was looking to join a Rock band in Los Angeles. Matt Austin made the long journey to Los Angeles to become part of a project that’s main goal is to make great music. Hands Down was finally official. Now what?

Meet Hands Down:

Aside from playing shows nearly every week, Hands Down won the music contest Battle of the Bands by American Trash Apparel in June 2007. They organized and performed in two benefit concerts to raise money for Katherine Edwards Middle School in Whittier, California and also performed in a Hurricane Katrina Benefit Show in the summer of 2005 at BB King’s in Universal City.

With their brand new release “Those Who Can”, produced and developed by Loren Israel (Jimmy Eat World, Plain White T’s, Sugarcult) and the guidance of their Marketing Consultant Greg Stricklin (Motley Crue, Guns N’ Roses, Julian Lennon, Bo Diddley, Disturbed, Yellowcard, Hyaline, Christy Clayton), Hands Down has become a band that shows great promise in the years to come. Their infectious music is apparent on “Those Who Can”, which kicks off with the high-powered enthusiasm of “Eyes on Fire” and closes with a groovy bass driven “Inside Out”.
