John Negron and David J. Moriarty have been writting songs together since high school. They both went to the same college and met Rob Baione in the process.

Rob joined the band Northwind, which John and Dave were a part of, and the three began to explore songwritting together. Eventually Northwind disbanded and the three harmonizing, barbershop quartet singing friends were looking to start something new and exciting. Two amazing musicians from another band called Point Blank, bass player Frank Gagliardi and drummer Jason Fenichel were also looking for something new and exciting to be a part of. Frank made a call to Rob about getting together and jamming with everyone and that my friendswas the humble beginnings of Halfmanwonder.

For the next 10 years, the band evolved and grew together as friends and as songwritters! Through name changes, band members leaving and coming back and countless hardships, the band endured. They released ep's and compilations of new songs and old songs with newer arangments. They recorded with different producers and studios around NYC and Long Island. Then the band released a christmas album called "Snowdrifts" that has been a very hard to find recording. All original christmas songs, it is said to be one of the most underrated albums these guys have ever put out.

A few years later, Halfmanwonder recorded and Ep' with producer Saul Zonana.

The song "Build" was entered into the Mars Music Big Band Search.

A contest consisting of thousands of bands submitting songs.

To their supriseHalfmanwonder came in second place and won $30,000 in touring and recording equipment!

In the winter of 2003 ,the band rented a house in Montauk Long Island to record the critically acclaimed debut record "Every now and sometimes then".

The record was a culmination of years of perserverance, friendship and hardwork. With help from engineer Will Sesack, the band recorded the record in 10 days. Since that cold February in 2003, the band has played hundreds of shows with artists like The Dave Matthews Band, SR71, The Smithereens, David Crosby, Spearhead, Sugar Ray, Derek Trucks, and the list goes on!

What is in store for Halfmanwonder in 2010 and beyond?

No one can predict the future

but they may have something up their sleeves :)
