What is h2O Productions? A husband and wife production and songwriting

team. A perfect union of rhythm and melody. Mark and Nicole met in 1997. Nicole, fresh out of New York University's Music Technology program, moved to Washington D.C. to work for a well known hip-hop/R&B producer named Chucky Thompson, whom she met

while working the weekend shift at Daddys House Recordings. Upon

relocating, Nicole met up with some up and coming songwriters. Mark, a

Washington, D.C. native, was one of those writers. Mark had been polishing his craft, writing to tracks from Chucky, Rich Harrison and other local producers in the D.C. area. The two hit it off immediately and began forging a productive working relationship as well as a wonderful friendship. Over the years, the two grew together to form a great team, and decided to go in together and purchase some equipment so they could lay their ideas down, so they bought their first four-track recorder. Years (and several pieces of equipment) later, the two decided it was time to

take their music AND their relationship to the next level. They were married

in Nicoles hometown of Philadelphia in 2000, but still resided in the D.C.

Metro area where they worked full time jobs during the day and pursued

their music careers by night. The rigors of full time employment and the

pursuit of their lives ambition were proving to be somewhat hard to balance. So, the newlyweds decided to take a serious leap of faith in order to better their chances at fulfilling their dreams. They paid off all of their debt, saved up as much money as they could, quit their jobs, sold all of their furniture and moved into Nicole's mothers

basement in Philadelphia. To many, it seemed as if the couple was taking a

step in the wrong direction. However, the couple knew that they had made the right decision and immediately got to work, polishing their skills in the basement and creating

a sound that was unique and fresh. Not only have their lives been blended,

but so have their musical skills. Everything they do is truly a team effort.

The two co-write and co-produce most all of their songs. The pair write, produce, arrange and record all of their tunes in the same basement where they live. Their style can be described as a refreshing blend of edgy rhythms and flowing melodies a little bit rugged,

but at the same time somewhat smooth like a diamond in the rough like

the union between man and woman. It is now 2006 and the two are still working hard in the basement, but things are a lot different now. Since relocating to Philadelphia, the birthplace of neo-soul and home to high caliber artists and producers such as Musiq, The

Roots, Jill Scott, Jazzy Jeff and James Poyser, they have had the opportunity

to establish great relationships and work with great up and coming artists.

As a result of their travels to New York City (which is now a mere 2 hours

away), the duo put together a compilation of works they recorded with 10

talented, unsigned, independent artists. The album was released in the Spring of 2005 and is called 'h2O Productions Presents: While U Wait.' and can be purchased on their website (www.h2o-music.com) and at cdbaby (www.cdbaby.com/cd/h2oproductions). The two also had a chance to produce a ballad titled Beautiful Distraction for another musical married couple named Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore. The lyrics were penned by their friend singer/songwriter Eric Roberson and is scheduled to be released on Kenny and Chante's next album. Mark and Nicole are currently putting together another compilation of 'works in progress' called 'Writer's Block', which they plan to release independently, this summer (2006). They feel blessed to be able to wake up every day and pursue their dreams

together, growing in appreciation of their gifts, their music, their lives and each other.
