Marc Cavanagh a enseigné à des centaines d’étudiants!



Il a fait ses études en guitare jazz avec les meilleurs guitaristes : Claude Dyotte, Michel Vaillancourt et Jordan Officer.



En plus, il a aussi une formation en éducation musicale universitaire.



Marc enseigne la guitare et la basse depuis 1992. Avec les années, il a acquis une grande expérience, il sait comment transmettre sa matière avec patience et une méthode bien a lui et ses étudiants avancent à grand pas.



Il enseigne tout les styles : lecture de notes pour les enfants avec des chansons simples et effectives. Le finger Picking pour ceux qui aiment la sonorité de cette cette musique. Les accords et chansons folk pour ceux qui veulent jouer de la guitare autour d’un feu de camp. Le blues et les gammes pour ceux qui veulent improviser. Le jazz et le flamenco pour les étudiants qui sont plus avancés. Sans oublier les incontournables Metallica et Deep Purple à la guitare électrique!!!



Parallèlement à l’enseignement , Marc a joué dans l’ensemble de guitare de Claude Dyotte composé de 7 guitaristes. Parmi les musiciens s’y trouvait : Richard Ring, Joe Diloro, Sébastien Roy, Martin Bournival et le contre-bassiste Jean Cyr.



Marc a été le premier basiste du groupe ''Par Hazard Jazz''.

My first guitar teacher was Denis Roy at Gaspe. He introduced me to the world of jazz. I learned guitar one year with Richard Dunn. In 1990 I moved to Trois-Rivieres for musical activities, I learned guitar one year with Michel Vaillancourt (guitarist of Andre-Philippe Gagnon). I learned guitar three years with Claude Dyotte ( he played 30 years with Guy Nadon, the jazz drummer in Montreal). I played with the guitar sextet of Claude Dyotte, in this sextet Richard Ring and Joe Diloro was featuring on the guitar and Jean Cyr on the doublebass. Jordan Officer, guitarist of Susie Arioli Swing Bang, taught me how to embellish chord melody and I learned the old jazz, style of Freddy Green, Django Reinhardt and Charlie Christian.

Since 1992, I taught guitar in different private school: Since september 2004, I am teaching the guitar at the Claviers Magiques at Trois-Rivieres Ouest. I have 40 to 50 students every week. I was the first bass player in the band «Par Hazard Jazz» in Trois-Rivieres in 2001 with singer, Gisele Biron, piano, Luc Lacharite and Erick Laprade, the drummer and the leader of the band. I played in every «Monday jazz jam session» at the Maquisart en 2001 and 2002. I played guitar in jazz band for club date with Claude Dyotte, Sebastien Saliceti, Yan Pederson, Gordon Wood.
