PRESENTATION



Guitariste inné et chanteur à la voix bien personnelle, G.TENNESSEE en voyant le jour à Yaoundé a bien sûr commencé, comme tous les gamins de la ville à jouer au football. pourtant, en entendant Freddie King, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Muddy Waters, E.Clapton, les Beatles ou les Rolling Stones, le coup de coeur a frappé très fort et aussitôt est apparue l'envie et même plutôt l'absolue nécessité d'être chanteur et musicien.



Du Béti sa langue natale, il a aussitôt souhaité travailler dur et voyager pour chanter en anglais car sa pop-rock est internationale. Traversant Le Cameroun, La RCA ou La Côte d'Ivoire ; il ne cesse d'apprendre et de métisser sa culture qui va le mener sur 3 continents ou il jouera, écoutera, apprendra pour être prêt aujourd'hui à proposer une musique comprenant à la fois des textes profonds et percutants sur des musiques toujours différentes mais avec la marque, l'empreinte : G.TENNESSEE.



Si l'on rajoute qu'en plus, ses chansons sont souvent dansantes et extrêmement mélodiques avec une petite pointe futuriste, on aura l'occasion de découvrir un artiste qui a pris le temps de peaufiner et de travailler, tel un artisan, pour enfin se sentir l'homme musicien dont il rêvait enfant.



Mais attention même si le chemin a été long et rude, il a surtout été très riche car après l'Afrique, il a d'abord assuré son bagage en faisant une maîtrise d'économie à la Sorbonne et à Evry, sans rechigner à de petits boulots qui lui ont fait découvrir tous les milieux pour mieux les décrire dans ses chansons. Ensuite il continuera à voyager, guitare en bandoulière dans tout le Sud de la France, la Normandie, le Stéphanois , le Nord, la Savoie. viendra la connaissance de l'Europe avec la Suisse, l'Espagne, la Hollande, l'Allemagne ou encore la Belgique. Que d'accords égrenés et de chansons déclamées avant que le rêve Américain (pour le Blues, le Gospel, la Soul, le R'n'b) ne se réalise.



Il vivra à Chicago ou il côtoiera dans les clubs, des figures mythiques telles J.L.Walker, Isaac Hayes et autres D.Coleman, pour ne citer qu'eux. De boeufs en concerts il traversera comme en songe l'Indiana, le Wisconsin, la Californie avec des détours fascinants par Los Angeles, Venice ou Beverley Hill.



Très éclectique musicalement, il l'est également en littérature (de Spinoza à Baudelaire en passant par Shakespeare) et avoue ses passions pour la peinture contemporaine (surtout Dali et Picasso). Artiste dans les gênes, il prend aujourd'hui son envol, le papillon TENNESSEE déploie des ailes aux multiples couleurs, qu'elles soient musicales, humaines et surtout en gardant l'humilité des grands voyageurs.



TENNES was born at Yaoundé and started to play football like any other kid.However,by listening to Freddie King,Jimi Hendrix,Eric Clapton,Elvis Presley…he willingly wanted to sing and felt the necessity to become a singer and a musician.



Therefore,without wasting his time,he started to travel in west Africa and worked hard on his lyrics in French and English(The Béti dialect being his native language!).He never stops learning and mixing his culture which enables him to go playing and listening on three continents! Today,his lyrics are deep and sophisticated with different sounds!



The label TENNES describes a dancing music with a soft melody that looks towards the future.We will have the opportunity to discover that TENNES is an artist who works hard every day to improve his lyrics and music like he has always striven for.Nevertheless the bumpy road has been long for TENNES and he has always been faithfull to his roots being born in Africa.



He studied at la SORBONNE and at EVRY to and obtained a diploma in economy.

At first he had to work hard doing tacky jobs here and here,that’s the reason why today he is able to describe precisely every aspects of these jobs in his songs! TENNES continued to travel with his guitar all over France and afterwards,with his will to go ahead he travelled in many europeen countries such as: Belgium,Holland,Germany,Spain and Switzerland…but the best idea that occurred to him was to go to the United States where to live,in Chicago.Indeed,it was in Chicago that he met many famous musicians including J.L.Walker,Isaac Hayes.Therefore,he decided to travel all over the united states and has visited so many places from California to Los Angeles! TENNES likes to read to get his inspiration,from Spinoza,Baudelaire,to Shakespeare and he is also interested in painting!



There are so many things to say about TENNES,but the clock is ticking and TENNES is already looking for another melody!

TENNES is like a “Gros Papillon” big butterfly ready to spread its wings,wings with so many colours both human and musical and above all,he keeps his mind open with the humility of great travellers!
