It all started when Rudy Vidal at the age of ten had a vision of being on stage singing in front of an audience. This may seem like nothing important to anyone but for Rudy it was a matter of life or death. Over time Rudy Vidal created and formed, Grupo Vidal. It was his dream to have a group of his own so that he could sing for everyone who needed music in there life. What makes this so important is that Rudy Vidal had kidney failure at the age of twelve. He began going to Kidney Dyalisis by the age of Thirteen. (Kidney Dyalisis is a treatment that helps clean the blood from all the toxins that the body carries.) After udergoing numerous complications and numerous surgeries and transplants Rudy decided that his was to be an example for others to witness. Rudy was on dyalisis for Twenty-five years, three times a week, four hours a day, and never did he regreat the cards that he was dealt for his life. Rudy would sing to bring joy to others and even in sickness still brought happiness to those who needed it. He is the reason why Grupo Vidal Exists today. There have been many who have contributed to the group throughout the years. We thank them all!!! The group has continued to strive for the dream of Rudy Vidal, to bring happiness to the people who love Music. That has become our dream. Gilbert Rodriguez = Accordion Born and Raised in Benavidez Texas Started playing accordion at the age of 12 Attending Texas A & M Kingsville (Junior), Danny Cantu = Congas & Percussion Born and Raised in Riviera Texas Started playing drums at the age of 5 started playing congas & percussion about two years ago Proud father of two children and one on the way, Danny Vidal = Bass & Vocals Born and Raised in Kingsville Texas Started playing bass at the age of 12 started singing at the age of 9, Plane Captain of NAS Kingsville, Javier Vidal = Bajo Sexto & Vocals Born and Raised in Kingsville Texas Started playing Bajo sexto at the age of 17 started singing at the age of 6 Attending Texas A & M Kingsville (Senior)
