Lumbre is a band with a diverse conjunto/Tejano sound. Based out of central Texas, their sound truly reflects the heart of the state. Lumbre has just released their second CD under the new 909 Music Group label out of Los Angeles. Grammy Award winning and legendary producer, Gibby Velasquez applauds Lumbre's talents and hard work ethic in the studio. Velasquez states, This CD is a keeper!



Lumbre's first single release Mal Pagadora hit number one on the radio charts in many cities. The song also made the top 12 on the ballot for Song of the Year at the 2006 Tejano Music Awards. A new record label named 909 Music Group from Los Angeles, California signed Lumbre from Texas. The 909 Music Group received some outstanding reports on the groups showmanship and professionalism when Lumbre went on a twenty four (24) day tour to entertain our military troops in Iraq, Bosnia and the Balkans during the Cinco de Mayo season in 2005



Lumbre can perform Tejano, Rock and Country.



Lumbre is made up of five members.



Gerald is the lead vocalist and comes from a military family with a strong country background. He was raised and still resides in Killeen. He brings life to the songs. Fans have said that he makes you feel like he is singing only for you. His immense kindness and caring personality shines through in every performance.



Mario plays accordion and is also the music composer for the group. He is musically talented beyond his years. He talent stretchs across all genres of music, playing various instruments including; bass, drums, guitar and of course the accordian. He also does back- up vocals on some of the bands songs.



Pedro is a self taught bass player. Pedro has made a remarkable recovery after suffering from a stroke in the Summer of 2006. The band is honored to have him as not only a member but a friend as well.



We would like to welcome our new dummer Carlos Hernandez to the Lumbre family. He has been a friend of Lumbre's for many many years. Carlos ia a Waco native and got his start with Johnny Bustamante and has had the privilage of playing with many great bands!



Lumbre is thrilled to have received seven nominations for their second CD entitled Aqui Te Quedas from the Texas Talent Musicians Association producers of the Tejano Music Awards. The band has toured in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Bosnia, the Balkans, Illinois, California, Colorado, Arizona, Kansas, Wisconsin and many other venues. Lumbre did not wait for a record deal they funded the first project themselves and it paid off. They were the only band nominated for a Tejano Music award as an independent artist in 2004. Lumbre is proud to represent the Central Texas towns of Killeen, Temple, and Waco next to Fort Hood.
