Grozniy

Born in the former USSR, relocated to New York in the mid-90's as a kid, right after his 2nd grade summer break and right before the shooting of Tupac, Oleg S. experienced the same 180 degree geographical and cultural twist of perspective as the many other Russian-speaking kids who were brought over to the States in that era. But what made his further cultural development unique, was its ambiguity in form and influence, where one side was the Russian school he was sent to attend, and the other was the the Big Apple he began to digest, and where falling behind on the either one was not an option for the young one. So in conclusion we have a result that is very unusual and diverse. His musical delivery and manner sound as if taken from the streets of the States, and the lyrical content overthrows the many so-called lyricists of the Russian Hip-Hop scene in its depth, vocabulary and understanding of the human soul.
