Q: What is Griznar, for reals?



A: Griznar is awesome. (Also, Griznar is a loose collection of artists mainly from Sylmar and the San Fernando Valley who have formed an open collective of their music, live performances, art and zany antics in the hope that it can be shared with others. Griznar is a record label- just one with no contracts, lawyers, manufacturing plants, capital, paperwork, A&R, marketing (kind of), sales team, clue where its going, etc. Griznar releases are pretty much home-made, self-financed, tapes or cds that we all worked to make. Griznar shows and products are usually free, or dirt cheap, and rarely do we cover the cost it required to produce said product. Go us. Pat, pat, pat. Do It Yourself mofo. Griznar means many things to many people-live music soothes the soul. And though your belly may be hungry your spirit is full. Maybe there are some burritos at the top of that mountain. Griznar is also a term first used by and certainly attributed to a Mr. Chris Woolfolk. Griznar is a catch-all philosophy for some, funny nonsense to others, and confusing to the rest.)"
