Grapes of Grain
Type:
Artist / Band / Musician
Balancing on the border of indiepop and alt.country, somewhere between fall and spring, is where you can find Grapes of Grain.
The 5-piece from Utrecht plays well-crafted songs that deal with the hangovers you can get from drinking, girls, dreams, work and growing older.
It started out as a folk project of singer/songwriter Alexis Vos, but after the release of the debut EP Depending on the Weather a band was formed in August 2006. The line-up compromises Berend Jan Ike (guitar, vocals), Ruben Bazuin (bass), Arno Breuer (drums) and Stefan Breuer (piano, banjo).
Along with the line-up, the sound has expanded and ranges from lofi-rock, cheerfull chamber pop to dreamy americana. Influences are drawn from the likes of Ryan Adams, R.E.M., Josh Rouse and Pavement.
