Late in '95 members of FFF and Hecatomb united and founded a new unholy league. On search for a band name we decided to take GRABAK - the largest serpent lurking underneath the roots of Yggdrasil.

At the beginning of '96 G. Antok and K. Mueller joined the band and became full time members. Some months later D. Glaser left the band for personal reasons. He became replaced by A. Feder, who had been a very good substitute in terms of skills and behavior.

In 1997 we played our very first gig with that line up. To be honest we did more or less successfully but hey we were damn proud of it. Until winter that year we created material enough to record our one and only demo. We entered a studio in Leipzig and gave birth to that piece of black art. We decided to publish it as a CD bt left it untitled for several reasons.

That year we played several gigs e.g. UTSB II in Leipzig. Our demo got some quite good reviews in several mags and zines. Nonetheless, we didn't promote the stuff in an appropriate way at least from a todays point of view. However, what we did was to write some new material which we recorded for promotional reasons only.

After we left the studio with the new material-don't ask for the sound it really had rehearsal character- we sent it to different labels. CCP- Records gave us the best deal ans so we signed the contact in April that year. We were for the first time in a more professional studio and the experiences we have had were more than impressive. So we recorded the songs for a second time. The relationship to CCP-Records was much more than a business shaped one. Somehow we became friends or at least closer mates. In autumn the debut had been released and the party was a great success.

Well, year 2K was not that good for us. We played 3 (!) gigs only and at the end of this year Kristin and Feder decided to leave the band. Both didn't shared the values of the band any longer and it was really the best for all to split somehow. Unfortunately, the new material was arranged and composed. The date for our record session had been fixed for April 2001. How to continue??? We tried to replace Kristin by some other keyboard players but it didn't work. To find a new guitar player was even more difficult.

One day two new probationers should try their luck. A guy who's name we don't remember and Christian Badtke. Well, after playing some riffs together and a short jam session with some Gorgoroth and Mayhem riffs we knew, who would be the new 5th member of Grabak. We decided to leave out synths forever and it was the right choice. Until june that year we re-arranged our songs and wrote some new. The result you can listen to is "Encyclopaedia Infernalis" which has been released in december 2001

This year saw no major events. We played several gigs and worked on new material. For personal reasons Gabor moved to Berlin. Nevertheless, he is still full member of GRABAK. Of course it made the work on new songs more difficult for him, but he managed this much better than expected.

At the beginning of 2003 we lost contact to our previous manager . We found him and the money some weeks later. Dirk decided to move to Halle because his job in a hospital forced him to do so. In April we entered the studio again and recorded the new album "The Serpent within Paradise" which had been released in autumn.

Well, first thing to mention is that Dirk became father. We really don't know how he managed it. Our problems concerning gigs and tours won't be easier by now. On the other hand we searched and found a helping hand in terms of concert organization. Kristian Arzig supported GRABAK concerning booking and organization. At the end of the year we had to replace Dirk by Sebastian.

Now, at the end of 2005 it might be useful to have a short summary of the things that happened this year. Still at the beginning of the year K. Arzig stopped his activities on the music sector. He was quite disappointed about the rumours going on. J. Rose took his job to organize the band's issues. Basti is now fully integrated and participates in song writing very much. Up to now we finished 7 songs that are definively much more brutal than any Grabak song before. Our 10th anniversary went by without any party. well, maybe we'll do a private show at the very beginning of 2006. A. Marcher will be responsible for the artwork of the coming album. It will be revealed when the time is right.

Hail, we stumbled into 2006 the way we ended up with 2005 - drunk. As promised we tried to continue our dark paths. Therefore, in August we recorded a demo to gain a new record deal. We sent it to a few labels with more or less response. Finally, we decided to sign the contract with Black Blood Records to release our 4th full length in 2007. Our music transformed into a much more brutal and fast Black Metal with virtous riffing and blasting drums. We don't give a damn about the tendency in Metal to become something like a Pagan or Heathen Metaller. Fuck it Nevertheless, we can't shut our eyes before the musical and ideological development in BM. We will follow only the musically based changes. Ideologically, we will stay as black as possible true Satanic virtue and no political blindness. So, all in all we can say it was a succesful year - personally and in terms of Grabak. Be aware of the awakening!!!

What a year so far. we never started that furiously. Many gigs were confirmed, some cancelled again, but hey somehow it began working. In March we recorded our forth full length album in Schmidt's Kick The Flame Studio. From our point of view all participants managed the session very well. Certain fresh sounds and ideas came into the material. and the first reviews are pretty good. We'll see what the time will bring.

- 2010 The last three years were under the sign of changes, good and bad things. Looking back, Agash Daeva was a full success. We played lots of festivals, single gigs and got many positive feedbacks and response from media and fans. 2007 was the year Gabor parted ways with us and Steffen succeeded him bravely. In 2010 Basti decided to leave the band for personal reasons right after we finished the recording session for our upcoming release. We entered KTF again and spent nearly 1 month in studio. Now, for certain reasons we are forced to wait for the relase and it feels like being punished and tortured by the misbalance between great expectations and reality in music business. Anyway, to stand the bad times we keep on working on new news.what a sadistic irony.knowing that the songs we recorded in April 2010 are finished to be released!!!.
