COLORADO INDUSTRIAL METAL! Originally
formed in '95, GPM was a regular in the Colorado music scene, thru the
late-nineties. Their first independent full length CD release, was well received,
and their unique sound and approach, garnered them a richly diverse fan base
Re-formed
in January of 2004, the "rebirth" of GPM heralds the reuniting of
guitarist/songwriter Matt Mengel with singer/songwriter Cristian Asuncion, both
original members of the band. The two still draw on their most extreme
influences, metal and electronica, and have just finished their first full length CD in 8 years. Cristian and Matt are
joined by drummer Leon Lala, guitarist James Tagawa,and bassist Jason Mengel
"The deep
pounding kick drum, and melodic sequencing of underground dance, together with
the heavy, drop tuned chunk of the guitar, are a perfect yet twisted compliment
to each other.", says Cristian. Even if you disagree, the members of GPM
think after you listen to one of their songs, you may be more inclined to give
this "style" of music further consideration.
GPM has opened for national acts Sevendust, 3 Inches of Blood, Metal Church, The Birthday Massacre, Mankind Is Obsolete, Ikonoklast, Pittersplatter, God In A Machine, Imperative Reaction, and Orgy.
