The Glim Project started in 2004 in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada, as the two guitarists (Lucanus Randall, Geoff Archibald) from recently the disbanded rock outfit D-brane joined up with Marco Bieri (drums) a swiss who was raised from 13 years old in Canada, and Ian wilkie (bass), who moved 1000kms to Vancouver after hearing an early rehersal. 5 months of steady rehearsing, and a 5 song e.p recorded at crying sky studios was completed, and the Glim Project quickly began gigging. In the first year, they played over 50 shows in and around vancouver, including their first self financed tour.
The following year, they entered the studio to record their first full length album, the self titled Glim Project. The CD release in October 2006 was a early highlight for the band, as the release party was sold out before the doors opened, and left a long line of people outside the club trying to get in.
In 2007 the band travelled to europe for their first european tour, a 13 show tour that included a spot on the mainstage at Soloturn Open air, in a strange matching, opening for Plusch. They also played In Sttutgart, Koln, Olten, Interlaken, and many other places.
While on the tour, the lead singer/songwriter/guitarist met his future girlfriend, and shortly upon returning home, decided to give up the Vancouver scene, and relocate to switzerland.
Upon arriving in switzerland, Lucanus joined up with Christoph Grob, Claudio Berger, and Kajo Böni, to form the new lineup of Glim. In the 12 months between march 2010 and 2011, they have been fortunate to play such venues as the Schuur(Luzern) Grabbenhalle (St Gallen), Treibhaus(Luzern) and Gaswerk(Winterthur, as support for Favez)
Their 2nd 6 song ep will be officially released on April 20th, and a full length album will follow within a few months.
