Since his early childhood in Bogota, LPs and singles were his favorite toys. At the age of 16, after years of research and exposure to electronic music he decided to become a part of the scene by crating his own artistic path. First by getting his hands on decks and vinyl's to become the pioneer dj of Colombia, and then as a producer impressing and satisfying even the most sophisticated listener with energetic fresh sets and superb skills.
Gerard in fact, the name gerardj is synonymous with quality, ingenuity, taste, style and integrity. He is also one of the founders and owners of the legendary well-known local club Cinema in Bogota, wich he opened along with his family in 1990. He fills club events with up to 10.000 people which have taken place since the early 90s. He started producing electronic music almost 8 years ago. Gerardj has been always the first dj in the country to take dance music up to a higher level and he is here to stay. Gerard was the first dj in the country to release the a dance compilation CD( emi music 1996 ).
During the 24 years that he has been a dj, he has played different genres, house, deep house, progressive rock, progressive house, techouse, minimal & electro. Gerard has played in every important city of Colombia and in countries such as; Peru, Ecuador and Panama. He has played with very important international djs such as; fat boy slim, darren price (underworld), ame, niky belucci, johnny fiasco, christhoper lawrence, bob sinclair, tom morgan, sara main, deadmau5, glenn morrison, austin leeds, jose de divina (circo loco ibiza),cesar del rio (privilege ibiza), marco carola, jimmy van m, harry choo choo romero , george acosta, rene amesz, ariel bound, timo maas, louie vega, sarah main, marcello castelli, audiofly, boy george, deep dish, carl cox, josh wink, john acquaviva, cue, mastiksoul, mauro picotto, gaetano parissio, brenda russell, dimitri, marco lenzi, london 909. Anthony pappa, dj yellow, allan somerville, bryan cox, mario piu, tom baker, mr gil, luis nieva, kevin andrews, phill good, pfreud, qattara, eric entrena, marco baley, leama, etc, he has played with national important djs as wady, pao c, johnny house-in and jay way to name a few. Gerard has also participated in various fashion shows for important Colombian designers such as; Hernan sahar, angel yanez, Pamela duque, wow productions, and for fashion events like the Bogotá week fashion. In these events he has played different styles like deep house, chillout, downtempo and jazzy house. He has also played in varios brand events like the red bull rave, Marlboro cigarettes national tour and kent cigarettes.
