George Kallis is a prolific, new generation composer, renowned for his melodic compositions and ethno-musicological traits to his scores. He has been described as “the new Jerry Goldsmith” (Motion Picture Records) during recent conducting sessions with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra.

George’s credit list includes the scores for HIGHLANDER THE SOURCE (Lionsgate) directed by Brett Leonard (Lawnmower Man, Virtuosity), JOY DIVISION (Momentum Pictures), orchestrations for various MARVEL films, and music for WILL & GRACE (NBC), FARAH’S STORY (NBC/C4), AMERICA’S MOST WANTED (20th Century Fox) to name a few.

He has just finished working with Emmy Award winning filmmaker Kerry Shaw Brown on THE RED KITE documentary, and is now scoring the final stages of the thriller FOUR YEARS RUNNING starring Max Ryan (Sex and The City 2). Some of George’s latest scores include the music for The Danish blockbuster of 2009 JULEFROKOSTEN, starring Thure Lindhardt (Angels & Demons) and supermodel Helena Christensen, as well as the music for MISSIONBUMSEN, which was part of the international award winning series, “Vores Krig” (“Our War”). Other works include music for ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP (UFC), CURIOSITY starring Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada, Wolfman), RIGHT HAND DRIVE starring Annabelle Wallis (The Tudors) and the highly acclaimed BBC series HORIZON.

George grew up in the island of Cyprus and studied classical piano and violin. As a teenager he decided to branch out and took to playing bass in heavy metal bands, expanding his knowledge for various instruments and musical genres. At the age of 18 George had already won several songwriting awards. His debut CD WHERE THERE IS A CHILD, included lyrics by Nobel-Prize nominated writer Kypros Chrysanthis and earned him a GOLD CD RECORD by Galaxy Music. The highly popular Berklee College of Music in Boston recognized George’s exceptional talent and awarded him a scholarship to study for a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Film Scoring. During his studies, George represented Cyprus as a songwriter in THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST in Jerusalem (the European show seen yearly by more than 600 million people worldwide). Berklee College of Music also chose George to represent the college as the most promising talent in an NBC special on film music.

George then decided to continue his studies at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London where he graduated with a Masters of Music Composition, studying with the acclaimed veteran composer, Joseph Horowitz.

George is currently working on international productions from his studio in London, UK.
