Formed by Monsieur Hybrid and Volkan T, Gentle Veincut started up as a no-budget/problem-child/ghetto-trash-project from Eschborn - a meaningless suburb lying in the (even more meaningless) mountains called Taunus, not far from a meaningless city called Frankfurt am Main.
Anyway they soon found some jerks who had felt sorry for them and who decided to join. The first show turned out to be the most horrible thing that had ever happened to the club. After 2 or 3 songs the organiser pulled the plug and because the drummer didnt stop playing (he once again had blasted himself with weird drugs), they poured a bucket of water over him.
Anyone else would have had enough self-esteem to stop after such a bad start, but our friends continued bothering their environment with that nuts sound which basically consisted of non-comprehensible guitar-riffs, supported by a complete skew rhythm-section and pathetic vocals. Eventually a crazy nerd from the label Hazelwood decided to produce a long-player CD of G.V. (nobody knows why, maybe he was on cocaine or something) and even engaged an extra wind-instrument-group and a DJ for that project. And wow, the sound and songs werent that bad at all! They even got some well-meant reviews (e.g. Sonic Youth meets ethno sounds from Germany)! However, of course the CD flopped.
During a long time of rehabilitation and after lots of live- (and life-)experiences, some promising changing of the line-up and an handful of further releases, G.V. irresistibly have continued to develop their noise-/postpunk-variations and are gaining the attention of more and more decent fellows.
