GABRIELA

GABRIELA is a surprising & promising 30 year old singer/songwriter.
She started writing poems when she was just 12 years old. They were quite melancholic.
She got her first electric guitar at the age of 15, went for a couple of lessons, quickly realized that it was not for her, and started teaching herself to play guitar at home.
GABRIELA started composing the poems she wrote, and at the age of 17 she got her first 12 string acoustic guitar.
From there the songs just kept coming, and she went to a recording studio and recorded a few of them.
After a couple of years she got her "Ibanez" acoustic guitar, and left the 12 string to sleep in her case.
The songs became different, and she started writing in English insted of Hebrew.
GABRIELA got together with a good and dear friend: Yuval Bar-On who played Cello, and they started working on the songs and had a few acoustic shows that went very well.
After a couple of years of hard and seccesfull work together they went their separate ways and GABRIELA started a band of her own in 2005.
The style of the songs changed from acoustic folk/rock, to electric alternative macabre folk/rock sometimes punk/rock.
On november 2006, the band (Or Bahir: electric guitar, Amit Erez: electric guitar, Dave Bareket: bass & Nir Vetshtein: drums) & GABRIELA (vocals/acoustic guitar) went into a rehearsal studio and recorded the songs for the album, played live in 4 hour session.
GABRIELA recorded her vocals with Ronen Roth at KITCHA STUDIOS who allso mixed the album.
On May 2008 GABRIELA's debut album "DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS" was released all over Israel (distributed by "HIGH FIDELITY").
The album includes 8 songs that were recorded live with the band & another acoustic song which represents the special hardcore theatrical nature of GABRIELA's imagination & music, her life story, along with the sensitivity of her soul & personality.
GABRIELA tries to be interesting in what she does in her music, but not too complicated.
The most importent thing for her when she sings & plays her guitar is to do her best to deliver character, express a wide range of emotions and a variety of colours in her vocal sound.
GABRIELA thinks the most importent thing for her is to sound honest, full of intention & interesting rather than beautiful.

Other than that she loves animals, especially her two wonderfull cats: Peachu & Agatha (Aggie).
