Gangsta Gritz

Born July, 25th 1986 in St. Louis, MO Corey Holmes A.K.A Gangsta Gritz,

found hip hop through the guidance of NWA, Ghetto Boys, and Public Enemy.

Without a father present in the household Gritz turned to the streets and music to raise him. Soon it was Rap City, Fab 5 Freddy and late nights of Yo

MTV Raps that influenced Gritz to using the craft of hip hop As he grew older violence became a more prominent force around him, and dreams of playing football faded and friends became distant memories. So Gritz began studying the art of Notorious B.I.G, 2 Pac, No Limit, Big Pun, and Jay-Z so that he could perfect his craft, in doing so Gritz became an honor student of the game.



By the age of 17 Gritz was known in the underground circuit for battling. Any one that wanted to test the waters was allowed to swim, but while winning battle after battle and gaining a growing respect from the streets Gritz became an underground legend. It was making the transition from the battle scene to making real songs that has held Gritz back from his ultimate goal of being a great MC.



In 2008 Gritz did his first full project with world wide known dj Stan Da Man he moved over 10,000 copies within the Midwest region and part of the south. He received such a good response from the tape and his smash Single 80s baby which took St.Louis by storm. This song propelled Gritz from the underground and onto the local scene in the the St.Louis market. He started traveling and doing shows all across the country. He is considered to be an legend from the streets of St.Louis in every circle and genre of music he is respected and looked upon as a potential superstar awaiting his one big shot. Its now 2009 and He has a new single called Cash me Out and a new mix tape with the world famous DJ Charlie Chan. With the right business moves and a strong team surrounding him Gritz hopes to get a record deal and bring the respect to St.Louis from and industry standpoint.
